Cassian Andor | Making Small Talk

"Captain Andor!" You called, walking towards him with with a bright grin. The rebel captain turned around showing the smallest hint of a smile for the first time today. He left Jyn to chat with Kay-too as he made his way over to You.
"Yes, Princesa?" He inquired, wrapping his arms around your waist. Even after being engaged for nearly a year he still made you blush like a school girl.
"Are you trying to leave without saying goodbye to me first?"
He shook his head and pecked your lips.
"Never, flor. I was simply showing Jyn to my ship."
You glanced curiously at the stranger in your Fiancé's ship.
"So that's Galen Erso's daughter?"
Cassian nodded but continued the conversation no further. His arms pulled you into a close hug, indicating it was time for him to leave.
"Be safe okay?" You told him.
"Always, Nivio."
With that, he was making his way back to his ship, and you were making your way back to the hangar to attend to your duties.

"You met Kay-too?" He inquired towards Jyn.
"Charming." She replied flatly.
"He tends to say whatever comes into his circuits, it's a byproduct of the reprogramming."
Kay-too crossed his arms and turned away.
"[Y/N] finds it entertaining." The droid justified.
Jyn looked curiously between them. Cassian rolled his eyes, and took his seat in the cockpit.
"Who's [Y/N]?" She asked.
"Is she the woman you were talking with before we boarded?"
Cassian mumbled out an incoherent response.
"Yes, she is." Kay-too answered for him.
Jyn stood up, walking to the front of the ship, she was not going to sit in this ship in heavy silence. She had intentions to get Cassian talking.
"That's your sister?"
The pilot scoffed "No."
"Friend? Girlfriend? Wife?"
"You're getting warmer." Kay-too butted in, earning a light glare from Cassian.
"She's my Fiancé."
Jyn was admittedly a bit surprised.
"I didn't know the rebellion did that sort of thing."
Cassian looked back at the girl briefly, before returning his focus to piloting.
"What sort of thing?"
Jyn shrugged.
"Weddings."
He visibly cringed, remembering the talk he had where he practically begged Mon Mothma to let them have a small ceremony.
"They're making an exception."
There was a lull in the conversation as Jyn scoured her mind for more topics to ask him about. He seemed lighter and more approachable when talking about [Y/N].
"So how did you two meet?"
She could have sworn she saw him crack a smile, just for a second.
"It was during a lockdown drill on base, we were both in the Cafeteria when the doors locked. I had spilled my coffee on her when the alarm went off so I gave her my jacket." He stared off in to space, with a loving look in his eyes. "We talked for hours, I hadn't even realized the drill was over until I looked around and the cafeteria was empty."
The robotic voice chimed in "he was quite taken with her. He didn't get any work done for days."
Jyn smiled, happy to finally see Cassian with some life in him.
"What's she like?"
The still-dazed captain was quick to respond.
"She's amazing, she's selfless, adventurous, kind, confident, beautiful..." he trailed off and shook his head.
"Sorry, I'm rambling."
Jyn laughed.
"It's alright, she sounds lovely."
"She's way out of his league." Kay-too commented, eliciting laughter from the both of them.
"The wedding is in June, when all this is over it would be nice to see you there."
She nodded with a smile.

***[BONUS]***

Back at the base you sat at your desk, bored, waiting for something to do. Your data pad buzzed quietly, seeing the message was coming from Cassian's ship you hastily opened it.

Cassian is rambling about you again, it's getting quite annoying-K2-SO

You smiled and set the pad down, wondering what he could possibly be saying.
