RUN!

BAM!

With panicked breaths, Ryan slammed the bathroom door shut. He crashed into another student, knocking them over. Taking time to check on them, he turned around and extended his arm. The student looked at him, her eyes filled with fear seeing his transformation. She screamed and ran off. His scales shook on the back of his neck rapidly. He could hear all his primal instincts, yelling, " Danger! Danger! " so he continued to run. He tripped over his own feet and fell onto the floor next to his locker. Quickly, he picked himself up and opened the cabinet, grabbing a hat from his mother and a hoodie. He put them on as fast as he could, disguising himself.

BLIIIIING!!

The bell rang loudly, sending Ryan's senses into a craze. Students flooded out of their classes, creating a massive crowd. He sprinted forward, pushing through all of them roughly. As he blinked, his vision kept switching. The world around him had changed as if someone placed a negative filter on a photograph. He rubbed his eyes as he knocked his shoulder into the principal's office door. Ryan turned the doorknob, his palms covered in sweat.

" Principal BENJAMIN! Everyone needs to get out of school now! One of the monsters on the news is here! " Ryan shouted. 

" WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!?! "

Outside, the Scorbis darted through the crowd, growling and snarling at anyone in its way. The students went into a panic, each trying to escape. As it ran past Rachel, she felt as if she saw it jump in slow motion. Her face turned red, getting hotter and hotter. Ryan lunged in from the side, kicking into a locker.

" I'm sorry for earlier. " Ryan groaned as he put his guard up.

" R-Ryan? " Rachel's eyes widened.

" You should run now. "  Ryan charged after the creature.

BAM!

With a powerful swing, the Scorbis lashed Ryan with its tail. He flew into the air, crashing into a water fountain. As the water burst out, when it landed on Ryan's skin, it evaporated instantly. Meanwhile,  Alex held Ryan's book bag in his hand as Jennifer and Max grouped up. 

" Where's Ryan? " Jennifer asked, but Alex just shrugged.

" Probably went to go puke all over himself. " Prince joked, " Ha! It brings back memories to last year when he- WHAT THE FU......!"

The Scorbis ran straight at him, screeching and showing its fangs. The bully turned into a deer in headlights, his knees knocking against each other. Ryan acted fast, zooming to his rescue. He jumped off of a locker, tackling the alien. Prince was astonished, seeing this hooded figure kick the alien into another cabinet. Max and Jennifer quickly knew it was Ryan in the fight, rushing to get to his aid. The Scorbis lunged off of the wall, its legs dangling like a hungry arachnid. It leaped over to a group of students, prepared to bite off their heads. Ryan stepped forward and grabbed it by its tail. Then, with one powerful throw and shout, the Scorbis blasted through the glass doors and onto the outside!

" Ryan. " Max whispered.

" I got this, move. " Ryan pushed past his brother entering the crowd.

Ryan turned his head to the students briefly as Alex caught a glance at his face. " R-Ryan? " Alex thought to himself as he saw the hooded figure zoom down the hall and outside. Ryan flipped out into the rain, flying down the steps. The Scorbis sprung to its feet, chasing him down the sidewalk. In the background, a suspicious black car followed Ryan's exit.

" I got him. "

The longer he sprinted, his legs felt weaker and weaker. Finally, he ducked into a nearby alley, seeing the black car blocking his way out. The door opened as a rifle aimed at him. Behind him, the Scorbis charged, roaring in the air! Ryan jumped backward, kicking it in its face as it flew towards the car. The creature recovered in mid-air, landing on top of the vehicle with a loud thud. Ryan scoffed. This thing was something else. Instead of staying put, he started jumping from wall to wall, reaching the top of the building. The Scorbis growled, copying his movements as Maeve stepped out of the car.
