It was the next day now and Normani was finally arriving at home...after 6 am.

She isn't happy that she had to stay at work all night, or even more important, she hasn't seen Daniel since yesterday morning. And she probably won't get to see him today either because his grandmother would be taking him to school in the morning since he stayed with her last night anyways.

Normani wants to go to sleep so bad right now, but she wouldn't be comfortable if she didn't take a shower first, so that's exactly what she did.

After spending about ten minutes under the warm water, she began to get even more drowsy. Before she caught herself falling asleep in the shower, she heard her phone ringing. She rushed out of the shower and wrapped her wet body in the dry towel.

Even though she was walking at a fast pace, she didn't make it to her bedroom to answer her phone in time. But when she reached her bedroom, she picked up her phone and saw that she had one missed call from her mother and a few unanswered texts from her.

Just as Normani was dialing the older Hamilton's number, she saw her mother's face and name pop up on the screen.

She immediately put the phone up to her ear. "Hello?" Normani greeted over the phone.

"Hey, Mani. Daniel said that he forgot something at home and that it was important he had it for school, so I figured that we would come stop by on his way to school."

Normani grinned a little. She knew her son all too well. He hadn't left anything at home , especially nothing for school. It was his excuse to come home because he knew that his mother was finally home.

It made Normani's heart warm that her son was so excited to see her that he would rather be late for school.

The young boy loved school because he always got to see his friends and his favorite teachers. He never wanted to miss a day, unless it was important and he needed to be absent for a doctor's appointment or something.

This reminded Normani of Daniel's mother, Dinah.

The tall blonde would always fight through her cold and sickness to make it to school or practice. She would never miss a day, and she would try her best not to let Normani miss a day either.

The brunette learned this when she was trying to get through a stomach flu and missed a couple of days at school.

"Mani, please come to school baby...I don't want you missing anymore days of school. You've already missed two, and if you miss anymore you'll have a shit ton of work to make up. That's stressful and I don't want that for you." Dinah pleaded through the phone.

Normani internally groaned as she felt her stomach twisting, making painful knots. She wanted to go to school to see her friends and see Dinah, and of course make up her missing assignments like her girlfriend said, but she hasn't been feeling up to it the last couple of days.

And it hasn't gotten better in the slightest. She understands what Dinah is saying but her body just won't let her.

"I know babe, but I can't even stand up for more than two minutes before I feel like vomiting. I can't walk through the hallways like this." Normani responded.

Dinah sighed, picking up her notebooks and heading downstairs to get into her car. She was going to drive Normani to school, but seeing as her girlfriend isn't feeling well, she had no choice but to ride to school alone....again.
