Dinah giggled beside Normani as her girlfriend happily swung their intertwined hands back and forth.

They were currently walking to Dinah's truck after spending hours at the mall searching for shoes. They were shoes that Daniel had been begging his parents to buy for him for almost a week now. His mothers decided that they would surprise him with the sneakers when he got home from school in a few hours.

Dinah opened the passenger side door for Normani and let her get situated before placing a small kiss to her cheek with a smile, and then closing the door to get in the car as well.

They had been having a pretty good day together.

Ever since this morning, they've both been in a good mood. Daniel showed his mothers that he got a good score on his spelling test from last Friday, which proved to them that he deserved new shoes.

Well, that's not the only reason. He had been on his best behavior for a while now and he hadn't done anything negative.

Normani got a call from her boss saying that she had today and tomorrow off. And Dinah didn't have any practice or any games today, so everyone was free.

Well, except Daniel because he had school.

Both women wished their son a good day at school with bright smiles and kissed his forehead goodbye. From then on, they had been touchy-feely more than they had ever been.

It was as if they were teenagers again.

Normani watched Dinah's calm face as she drove them back to the apartment. She grabbed her free hand and gave it a soft squeeze-earning a wide smile from her girlfriend.

"You're cute. You know that?" Normani asked.

"Psh!" Dinah's face shifted, "I'm hella cute." She finished with a hair flip.

The older woman shook her head as the both of them laughed. "I haven't heard that in years."

"Well, that's because I still got it." Dinah said cockily.

"Oh gosh you make yourself sound so much older."

"You still love me though." Dinah teased. She made sure she came to a full stop when the light turned red, and turned to look at her girlfriend.

Normani smiled and nodded her head and just admired Dinah's beauty. She was right...she did love her... she does love her. There was so many reasons why she loved the woman back then, but there are many more now.

Back then, she couldn't tell the difference between the feeling of love or the feeling of flattery because she got attention from someone.

But now Normani knows that she actually loves Dinah. One of the main reasons is because of Daniel, the greatest gift anyone could ever give her.
"You're absolutely right DJ." She said lowly-staring lovingly into big brown eyes. "I love you... so much."

Dinah blushed at the words and slowly leaned forward. She almost connected their lips, but the person in a blue car behind them honked their horn-signaling that the red light now turned green.

The blonde continued to blush, both because of the flash of embarrassment, and because of the term of endearment said by one of the most important people in her life.

By now, both of Dinah's hands were on the steering wheel-which is for the best-and Normani just looked out of the window, quietly observing the city.

There was a thick silence in the car because neither woman knew what to say.

But minutes later, Normani's phone rang in her jacket pocket. She took it out and saw that the caller id said 'Hawthorne Elementary'. She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion but answered nonetheless.
