DÈJÁ VÛ -Norminah-

Dinah groaned and buried her face deeper into Normani's chest. Over the past few hours, the couple had switched positions to make themselves more comfortable. Sleeping on top of Normani and using her breasts as pillows always resulted in the best sleep for Dinah.

Sadly, she couldn't enjoy it because her alarm clock went off. She threw her arm towards her phone to turn the loud noise off, but little did she know that she only pressed snooze.
And she accidentally continued to press the same button blindly.

Many minutes after the fact, Dinah whined as she felt Normani move to grab her phone from the bedside table. She held on to the older woman's waist tighter, making it hard for Normani to move.

"Dinah..." Normani's tired voice rasped out, tapping Dinah's arm as a signal to let her go. "...It's time to get up and you're hurting me."

Dinah loosened her grip, but still held onto her girlfriend while snuggling closer into her stomach. "5 more minutes." She said. She then noticed that Normani's shirt wasn't all the way pulled down, and that some of her skin was showing. She lightly placed kisses on her stomach here and there before laying her head back on it.

Normani slowly drifted off back to sleep in the newfound silence and under the warmth of her girlfriend's body. She ran her fingers through the long blonde hair one time before letting her hand rest on Dinah's warm cheek.

All of a sudden, Dinah's phone rang causing her to groan loudly against Normani's stomach. The dark skinned beauty giggled sleepily at the ticklish feeling of vibrations on her stomach. She opened her eyes slightly to see Dinah's blurry figure reaching for her phone and sitting upright on the bed.

"Hello?...yeah, I'm up." Dinah answered and sighed as she rubbed her tired eyes. "I'll be there in an 2 hours." She said as she hung up the phone.

Normani watched her girlfriend stand up and stretch her limbs. "The airport isn't that far from us. It won't take that long to get there."

Dinah looked back to her girlfriend who stared back at her through hooded eyes. "I know, but I'm giving myself more time to slouch around."

She then began dragging her feet across the room. From the bed to the closet. From the closet to the bed. From the bed to the bathroom. And from the bathroom to the bed again.

"Shower with me?" The blonde asked her sleepy girlfriend after pulling the comforter off of her body. "It'll save more time."

"Sure...even though you have plenty of time to waste." Normani responded back playfully and got out of bed to pick out her clothes and stuff as well.

"Wassup lil man? I see you got the newest Jordan's on your feet already." Kehlani smiles at Daniel as they did their own little handshake.

He grinned and nodded his head, looking down at his shoes before looking back up to his new friend. "Gotta stay fresh."

"That's right!" She said and dapped him up. "The ladies are always watching."

Normani rose an eyebrow at the interaction and looked over to Dinah, who shrugged in return. Normani didn't even know her son spoke that way, but she guesses that must be how he talks around his friends.

And Kehlani seemed to be one of them.

"Hey, Normami." Kehlani greeted Normani and pulled her into a nice little side hug. She respected she and Dinah's relationship and she didn't wanna cross anymore boundaries than she already has.

"Hello Kehlani, it's nice to see you again." Normani smiled politely.

"You too, but coach is a little upset at Dinah right now because she's 45 minutes late. So I would love to stay and chat with y'all, but we gotta go." Kehlani informed them before continuing. "Y'all can say all that lovey dovey stuff and suck each others faces off one last time before we have to head out."

Normani and Dinah laughed at Kehlani, while Daniel grimaced and shook his head at the thought.

The blonde turned to her girlfriend and pulled her in for a hug. It was gonna be a while before they saw each other again, and she was glad that she was leaving on good terms with Normani.
She pulled away and glanced at her son to make sure he wasn't looking, but he was staring up at them with those big brown eyes that had the same curiosity in them that they always had.

She smiled down at him before turning her body to shield him from the kiss that she and her girlfriend was about to share.

Normani quickly wrapped her arms around the blonde's stomach, thinking that she was about to pull her in for another hug, but she leaned down and attached their lips together instead.

The older woman didn't hesitate to return the kiss. Instead, she accepted the French kiss, along with a few other small pecks on the lips before Dinah pulled away. "I love you, and I'll see you in a month."

"I love you too, and I can't wait." Normani whispered. She gave her a small smile before she felt Dinah's arms pulling her back in for another hug.

Daniel watched the whole interaction with worried and sad eyes. He saw how his moms hugged and looked at one another as if they wouldn't see each other again. He didn't like that feeling and it made him sad.

Dinah then turned around and bent down to somewhat reach his height level. She gave her son a sad smile and a soft squeeze on one of his arms.

Daniel's eyes filled with tears when he saw the sad look on his mom's face get sadder. "Why are you crying, DJ?"

He sniffled and looked back up to his mama and saw that she was now sporting a deep frown. His eyes returned back to Dinah in front of him when he heard her call his name.
"How long will you be gone, again?"

"Only a little over a month baby boy. I'll be back sooner than you think." She said, now pulling him into a hug. She rubbed his back and let him cry on her shoulder as his arms were tightly wrapped around her neck.

"A month is so long and it feels like a year sometimes. I w-won't be able to see y-you everyday." Daniel hiccuped through his tears.

Dinah continued to rub his back to get him to calm down since other people around them were staring to stare at them. They were all giving her sympathetic looks, but she closed her eyes tightly to stop herself from shedding tears as well. "You can watch me on tv, or if my game isn't being shown on tv then you can FaceTime me every night before you go to sleep okay?"

He nodded and sniffled again, not feeling up to it to say anymore words.

Dinah watched as he pulled away and she wiped his tears. She laughed when he wiped hers as well, and she smiled sadly when he placed a kiss on her cheek.

She returned the kiss on his forehead before standing up and taking her luggage from Normani. Everyone said their "I love you's" , their "I'll miss you's" and their "goodbyes" before Dinah made her way through bag check and then the metal detector.

Dinah promised to call them as soon as she landed and got herself situated in the hotel.

She was really gonna miss being with them in person, but she knew that she was going to see them again soon.

A month wasn't too bad, but it was long enough.

"You're so emotional. You cancers are something else." Kehlani joked to lighten the mood. She smiled once she saw that her other teammates laughing made Dinah laugh as well. "Cheer up rookie. You'll all get used to this whole traveling thing soon."

"Yeah, well I sure hope so." Dinah replied.

I know this sucks but these "filler" chapters needed to happen before the "real drama" gets introduced 😏😈
