"His name is Hunter Williams."
Chloe staggered backwards, her heart clenching in pain as fragments of memories flashed in her mind.
"Huh? Miss lady, are you alright?" Little Chloe asked worriedly.
Chloe sucked in a sharp intake of breath, trying to calm down. She let out a forced smile. "I'm fine."
"Chloe!"
The two turned towards the sound of the voice. A lady around her late twenties hurried towards them, her eyebrows furrowed in a frown.
She had straight, blonde hair that fell just above her shoulders. Her frame was petite, with a small button nose and dark green eyes.
"How many times have I told you not to run off?" She scolded, her hands on her hips.
Little Chloe pouted. "But mom, Austin took my cap and ran away. I had to chase him..." She trailed off, a horrified expression crossed her face. "Shoot! He still has it!"
The lady sighed. "Just ask him for it at school." She smiled. "A good excuse to talk to him, am I right?"
"MOM!" Little Chloe's cheeks were tinted pink.
"Ah, I almost forgot." The lady turned towards Chloe. "You are...?"
"Ah!" Little Chloe piped up. "She's the nice lady I started talking to."
"Oh, well nice to meet you." Sticking out her hand, the lady beamed. "I'm Alise, Chloe's mom."
Chloe paused, before reaching out to shake Alise's hand. "Pleasure to meet you," She greeted with a smile. "My name is Chloe, just like you're daughter."
