he looked at me with a blank expression. "are you sure?" he asked softly.

"i should've had it three weeks ago." i told him.

"well maybe it'll come really soon. why don't we just wait." he said calming down a little bit.

"on our way in do you wanna stop and get a test? just to be sure?" i asked him.

he nodded quickly and that was the end of it. he obviously didn't want to touch base about it again because when we got to the nearest walgreens by the apartment, he gave me his credit card and said "get however many you think we need."

i walked into the store with his card and my phone in hand and walked straight to where I knew they were. I got like seven different tests and then checked out.

as I was walking back to the car, i saw one of my teammates and she walked over and gave me a hug.

"where have you been?! i miss being able to play spiker. I've been takin your spot." she said happily.

"my boyfriend and i had some family issues to deal with but I'll be back tomorrow. you can have your spot back. promise" I said giving her a wink.

she laughed and said "see you later girl." and walked in the store.

I got in my Tahoe and we drove to the apartment in silence. whenever we got to our building, I grabbed the keys and ran upstairs to take the tests. I had just drank like ten bottles of water and my stomach was about to burst, much less my blatter.

i heard Taylor walk in with all the bags an throw them on the bed and walked into the bathroom and sat on the counter. he played on his phone so he didn't look at me.

after I took the last test, I walked over to him and leaned into his chest. with the counter being the hight of my waist, he was about a foot taller than me sitting on it.

he wrapped his arms around me gently and told me quietly that everything would be okay. "baby or no baby i still love you the same. in fact, if we have another one just like you, i'll have two of you to love the exact same."

i let out a sob i didn't know i was holding in. the tears had soaked my face without me even knowing it.

he tightened his grip around my waist and kissed my forehead softly. "shhh." he said quietly.

as I stood there, in our bathroom with the lights off and Taylor's arms around me tightly, i realized that baby or no baby, he really did love me and that yes, everything would be okay.

after thirty minutes passed and my feet were hurting from standing on the hard marble bathroom floor, I walked over to the other side of the counter where all the tests were.

i closed my eyes and took a deep breath and Taylor hopped down from the counter. he stood behind me and kissed the top of my head before i opened my eyes.

i looked down and all of the tests were negative. I let out a breath and turned to him and said softly, "we're not having a baby."

his face immediately lightened and he picked me up and kissed me. "I'm sorry but I'm so happy. I don't think we could've done it right now, by ourselves, as freshman in college." I laughed and nodded my head as he put me on the counter. "so i was wondering if you wanted to go on a date." he whispered in my ear. "dinner and a movie at home, with me?"

I smiled and said "you do realize we have like no groceries."

"you do realize that we both have credit, debit, and gift cards. right?" he said sarcastically.

"c'mon. can you find my nikes? pretty please?" I begged him.

he walked out the bathroom as I hopped of the counter and threw away all the tests and put them in the garbage shoot outside in the hall.

I plopped myself on the leather couch and he walked out the room with his navy sweats that had our high school name and football on it with a plain white tee that you could see his six pack through, clearly. he had his hair messy and he had his red nikes on and my black ones in his hand.

"can you put em on for me? pretty please?" I begged again.

he laughed and threw them at me. "only if you can catch em."

I caught one of them and he laughed and walked over to me. as he was tying my shoes, I heard him mumbling the song we were taught when we all learned how to tie shoes. I started smiling at him and ran my fingers through his hair. "I love you Taylor." I whispered in his ear.

he smiled and said "i love you more."
