Father's love

After a month...

"Ano?! H-how?! Taki, you are better than this!"

"Pwede ba, Ivy?! Hayaang mong mag-explain ung bata."

Mom rolled her eyes, and I started shaking.

"M-mom... Hinde ko rin po alam..."

"Just what I expected. I raised you up to become a mature woman, and this is what you'll repay me?!"

Ivy said while squeezing my cheeks hard. Dad slapped her and she released my cheeks.

"Don't you dare do that to my daughter, Ivy!"

"Bakit? Ikaw lang ba ang may anak sakanya? She's my daughter too! And I have the rights to control her!"

"How many time do I have to tell you?! She's a grown woman now, for God's sake! Ugh!"

Dad pulled my hand and we left the house. While in the car, I started having thoughts about this new thing for me. Until everything got lost, I started crying.

"Taki? Are you okay?"

"I'm sorry, Dad... I should have been more responsible."

"Taki, that's nothing. That baby inside you is a blessing, so why regret it?"

"P-pero hinde toh tatanggapin ni mom."

"You don't need your mom's opinion on this, Taki. I'm here, Hera is here, and Kenneth's there to support you and your baby. Just remember that we'll all be here to support you because we love you."

I sniffed and hugged my dad. He's the best person I know. When we got to my condo, I told him to rest for awhile. He rested at the couch as I change my clothes in the bathroom.

"Asan nga pala si Kenneth?"

"Ah, he's at school po."

"Wala ba kayong plano sa buhay at aasa na lang kyo sa pera ng mommy nyo?"

"Umm... Dad, balak nya, namin na magtrabaho after mag-graduate."

"Pero paano ka makaka-graduate kung buntis ka?"

"Dad, I'll make it work. Wala namang magbabago. Sabi nyo nga, This is a blessing, so why regret it?"

I sat beside him and he snuggled me.

"I can't believe you are now a grown-up. Back then, you were my only baby Taki, now you're becoming a mom."

He said while kissing my forehead.

"Si Dad naman eh..."

"What?"

"Pinapaiyak mo ko."

"Oh, sorry..."

He said while laughing.

"Basta Dad, kahit anong mangyare, I will always be your baby Taki. I love you po, daddy."

"I love you too, anak."

After an hour, Kenneth arrived.

"Love, an--"

He stopped talking and saw my dad.

"Kenneth, pwede ba tyong mag-usap?"

"O-opo..."
