A day with my ate Izy

"Saan nga pala ung kasal nyo sa Palawan?"

Izy asked.

"Sa Coron po."

"Wow. Samin ni Jackson, chuch wedding lng. Why in Coron, though?"

"That's where we met. That's where I found him. And I think that can be a good reason for us to get married there."

"Nice idea. But have you thought of a church wedding?"

"Yes. It's a good idea, you're marriage is blessed and all, but I like the idea of a beach wedding more. I think every marriage and couple are blessed no matter what kind of wedding they have."

"Hmm... He really changed you, didn't he?"

"I guess so."

"Well... Tama ka naman, depende kasi un sa ikakasal. Kung mabait sila o ano. Pero the most important thing about your wedding... Is that you're both together, you will become as one, you will both grow old together."

I smiled at my ate Izy.

"Thanks for the quote, ate. Sya nga pala, I want to make Elizabeth and Felisha as my flower girls. Then maybe Martina too."

"I'm fine with that. How bout' Gaea?"

"Yeah... Hmm, maybe the ring bearer? But isn't it weird for her to be our ring bearer?"

"Not at all. She's your daughter for some reason."

"Right. I can't wait to see her walking down the isle."

"Yes, that's cute. But everyone's waiting for the bride to walk down the isle. Pero teka, diba may honeymoon?"

I looked at my ate then she elbowed me.

"Hmm, may plano ba kyong sundan na si Gaea?"

"Ate naman eh! Sundan agad si Eya?"

"Well... Kayo bahala. Pero kung ako sayo, susundan ko na sya. Gaea's a 1 year old na after all."

"I don't know."

"Okay... So, is everything done na? Baka meron pa, matulungan ka ng ate."

"Wala naman na. Yung groom na lng ang kulang."

"Jusko. Wag mong sabihin wala ka pang groom?"

"Hinde ah! I mean gusto ko ng makita si Kenneth... Namimiss ko na sya..."

"Why won't you call him? Next week pa kyo magkikita."

"Maybe later na lang..."

"Okay... Alam mo, ang weird lng kasi hinde ko pa nakikilala ung magiging asawa mo then I'm excited for your wedding all of a sudden."

"Then I'll introduce you to him on the wedding."

"Good idea."

Izy leaned in and hugged me tightly.

"Hinde na dalaga ang kapatid ko. Hinde ko na sya maba-baby dahil may sarili na syang baby."

"Ate naman eh!"

I hugged her back.

"Ang clingy mo naman ate eh!"

"Hmmm! Mamimiss tuloy kita ng sobra!"
