❝He's that kind of friend who will help in hiding a dead body, but if he was ever betrayed,
just remember:
he knows how to hide a dead body.❞

A seasoned soldier would always bring the best ammunition in the battlefield. And Jeon Jungkook has brought his most lethal weapon tonight. In the form of a blonde girl, clothed in the deepest shades of blood.

Strategic offence and tactical defence. Both his blade and an armor. The girl is his walking leverage, a trump card to assure his victory in a war waged for power, glory and pride.

And so it begins.

"I should be the one surprised, Tae." His lips curled into a smirk. "Never thought you would side with the wrong person."

The chief executive of Kim Enterprises had a reputation tantamount to his. Ruthless. Ambitious. Power-hungry. Being the second son, his climb to the top was not an easy one. Success was not handed to him on a silver platter, he gained it by proving his worth and surpassing his father's expectations. He, too, will not stop at anything to get what he wanted; whatever the cost maybe.

Before madness drove them apart, he had been friends with Kim Taehyung along with Jimin for as long as he could remember. There were four others within the clique, but the three of them were inseparable. His relationship with Taehyung was quite a unique one; both were pals and rivals. They compete with everything, from school grades, club activities, even girls. And the scores were a draw upto the present.

"A wise man would never choose to be in the losing side," he replied in his deep, baritone voice. "And by the looks of it, you're barely keeping it together. Falling into a trap and getting yourself shot, it seemed to me that you have lost your touch."

Jungkook's smirk grew wider, confusing the older. "And yet here I am. Alive and well." He circled an arm around the small of Lisa's waist, ready to cast the bait. "Although I won't take all the credit for going this far. If it's not for Lisa here, I would be good as dead." He knew he had chosen his player well when a flash of surprise crossed the other man's face. It went as quickly as it came, but it did not escape his eyes.

He added, "I'm sure you're happy to see her tonight, aren't you Tae?" Jungkook was already salivating over the upper ground he had drawn against Taehyung. This strategy does not involve the use of petty things such as guns and knives; it will be a mental play of the mind to subdue the enemy.

Taehyung glanced at Lisa with an unreadable expression, he replied after a beat. "Of course. What made you think I wouldn't be?" The tension among the three did not start to ebb, it only heightened.

The executioner in Jungkook wanted to circle in for the kill, but it would be too early for that. He preferred to take it slow, bit by bit, stripping his foe with all their inhibitions and charging in before they can see the attack coming. One must starve first to enjoy the feast, like how a lion grovels for food.
