"Crap," I fling the photo down as the door opens quickly, the shuffling of feet comes closer as I lay on the pillow and try to act casual, I should have hid in the bathroom. The shuffle of feet get closer and closer but before they enter the bedroom they freeze and start to pace back and forth in front of the door. It isn't my dad because he hates pacing it makes him break into hives.

I stand and walk over to the doorway and peak out of the door, Night is pacing and mumbling something to himself. He doesn't seem to notice me standing there. "Night," he flicks his head up at the mention of his name and looks right at me, or more so through me. He still doesn't seem to see me but he starts to come toward me and to the drawer in my dad's bedroom. He brushes past me and knocks me to the ground and closes on the drawers.

He stands there and with drawls a silver house key and then proceeds to knock on one of the drawer slots and it pops open. I stand and walk over to the dresser in a daze, I see him place the key into the drawer lock, it pops open to reveal a thick black oak box. He takes the box out and a strange smile comes on his face. He clutches the box to his chest and mumbles under his breath. I stand next to him and hold my breath, he looks directly at me but does not say a word.

"It's always belonged to you." He opens thee box and a blinding white light flashes, I hear a soft thump-thump, I look into the box and see a heart.

"My precious Night," the words said chill my bones. I turn form Night and I am greeted by the cold eyes and red lips of Luna. Night stands absolutely still beside me but at the sound of his name come from her rotten lips he smiles. His addicting sweet smile is gone, replaced by the lips of a fool.

"My heart is yours," Night pushes me to the side and goes clumsy at the sight of her, he pushes the box out toward her and she smiles.

"Night," his name escapes my lips but he pays me no attention.

"See, he never wanted you. It was all and act," she smiles victorious. She grabs his heart dropping the box, the heart pluses in her man hands and tightens his grip. He winces but still smiles, I scream for her to stop but she just smiles.

"STOP LEAVE HIM ALONE!" I scream. I need to be strong, but I am a screaming child, in that moment I swear it was my heart she had in her hand. All in an instant Night is on the ground floor wriggling in pain. Tears run down my face and I sink to my knees. "Stop, please. I'll do anything," I whimper.

"Anything?" Her voice gets high and she smiles down at me. She kicks me and I give a growl, she kicks harder this time in my ribs, I scuttle back toward Night.

"Yes, anything." I give in, her sickly sweet smile makes my stomach turn, she looks down at me and motions me up. I stand on weak knees with a tear streaked face. Weak. She strikes like a snake, going for my chest, I yowl at the pain as she pulls out my heart. The only way for an immortal to die is to have your heart crushed by one.

"Will you die for him, the one you love the most?" She begins to tighten her grip as black dots begin to dance across my eyes. I nod feeling my heart thump in her hand. "First you die, then him."

"You bitch," I reach for her but my vision swims in black.

"NIGHT!" I sit straight up and clash heads with someone.

"Ow," we say in unison. I open my eyes and look at Night who smiles and rubs his forehead.

"Are you okay," he speaks first. I can't seem to shake the nightmare dread away. "Sorry to wake you but you were talking in your sleep." He smiles sheepishly.

"Oh crap, what did I say?" I know I shouldn't have laid on the bed, damn thing probably has a sleeping curse on it.

"Um nothing important." He blushes.

"I said your name didn't I?" He nods and I groan, shaking my head in my hands and he laughs.

"Its okay, it was cute."

Cute. The death of every girl. He yawns making me yawn. Damn bed. "You should get some rest, it's been a long," yawn. "What was I saying?"

"Long day," yawn. He leans back, his body forming to the bed, his tee shirt lifting some to reveal his stomach. Flat and tan. His eyes close and a smile forms on his lips. I stand to take my leave but Night is laying on my hand. I try to tug it out but its stuck. I lean over him and try again but when I pull it free Night grabs my waist and pulls me down next to him.

"Sleep with me," he smiles with his eyes closed. I am tired, but no, this is wrong. Even if my heart says yes, my head says no, bad idea.

"Night, I can't." His smile is bright, intoxicating. I brush his jawline with my finger tips.

"I'm not letting you go," I groan and squirm, his hold is tight. I fight against his grip but seeing I'm not going anywhere I give in.

"Idiot." I mumble and he purrs. I sigh and nuzzle into the curve of his neck. He kisses my head and I freeze, I can feel his warmth through his tee shirt and jeans.

"Good night Fire."

"Good night Night." He giggles and I sigh. I start to drift into sleep and around two in the morning the bed shifts with Night moving and his arms untangle from me and turns to the other side of the bed. My time to escape, but do I want to? I stand at the foot of the bed and debate weather if I should get back into bed with him or go pack so I can find my mother. My sleep deprived mind decides on sleep, it is only sleeping.

I walk over to the side of the bed Night is sleeping on and smile. I lay next to him and drape his arm over me, I hold his hand for a moment and in the next second he squeezes it and pulls me into his warm body. He kisses my head again and hums my name then drifts back into sleep.

Good choice for once, I sigh and close my tired eyes and dream about him.
