The drive to the surface is twenty minutes on a good day, but with my dad making deals left and right it takes a lot to try and not hit one of them. They scream as I weave and I hear Chaos muffle a scream I on the other hand just chuckle. If looks could kill I would be thrice dead by the way Chaos looks at me when I zoom past a red light.

"Explain to me why Luna hates you again," I look at Chaos, the lucky fool. Chaos doesn't really know Luna because if she did I'm pretty sure Luna would already be in her grave. I look at Chaos out of the corner of my eye nearly hitting a teenage idol soul. Just thinking about Luna makes me flicker in and out of fire. I blow smoke and try to calm myself down and tell Chaos everything.

"Well Night was engaged to her. An arranged marriage," I state as Chaos raises her perfectly arched eyebrows. "His parents were rich and so were Luna's, the only thing though was he wasn't in love with her. He wanted to marry someone he loved not for something shallow and evil like money." My cheeks flush, I can feel my blood start to boil, my arms start to get goose bumps. I'm afraid to speak to Chaos, terrified to say this in front of her. "The first time I went to the surface with Night wasn't actually my first time. I was secretly going to the surface to watch the mortals, I was so fascinated with their puny lives. I didn't understand how they enjoyed their short time on earth while I felt mine was so wasted."

"You're an idiot."

"That's when I saw Night, he was standing at his bedroom window staring out in the distance with a blank look in his eyes. I was so captivated by the depth in his eyes that I tripped right there in front of him. He came running down to help me and chased me down when I wasn't there and when he finally caught up to me I was already back home. The next morning I returned to the surface again, I was just so fascinated with their way of life and while I was spying on the mortals around me Night was watching me. I had caught his attention and the more I had his attention, his marriage to Luna just wasn't as important as I was to him." Chaos shakes her head and sighs.

"How do you know this," I shake my head at her.

"You wanted to know so I'm telling you, now hush. So he said he had never seen someone like me before with red hair. Remember this is before they had bottled hair color, there weren't many natural red heads. So he fell in love with me hard and the idea of marrying Luna just felt wrong, made him sick to his stomach if he thought about it for to long. He went and told his parents and Luna's and her too. They were furious and Luna was heart broken." I smile, I love it when Luna's in pain.

" When he wanted me to meet them I left. I was a coward back then," I still am, but I don't say that part. " I refused to go back to the surface because if word got out that someone with red hair was sealing husbands my father would know it was me." I pause and look left then right and then left again at the intersection and head to the surface a little faster. "When Night couldn't show his parents and Luna and her own parents everyone proceeded with the marriage as if he had suffered a minor break down. But he couldn't go through with it, he loved me after all. He left Luna at the alter on the rehearsal and went to go find me."

"You didn't give him your name did you," Chaos smiles like the devil.

"Nope, but he did find me eventually, after he struck a deal with my father. His deal was that if he didn't find the love of his life in a year he would give his soul to my dad but he needed a clue as to where I was at. My dad's answer, wait a year you'll find her then. This was a week after my dad found out I had been sneaking up to the surface that's why he has that stupid rule."

"It's a good rule that you should be obeying but seeing that we're probably half way to the surface there's no going back now."

"So as I was saying, Night went back to Luna with his heart broken, and reliesing he had just sold his soul for a girl he hardly knew, he married Luna, but he never gave up hope. Two days before his year was over Luna went missing and everyone I mean everyone including his parents thought he had murdered her. Which he didn't because if he did I wouldn't be dealing with this bull right now."

"Language Fire."

"Whatever, Luna went in search of me but she too found my father, her deal she gets to stay young and beautiful forever and father would get her soul and her new husband's. She didn't know at the time that Night had already signed his soul away, so my dad broke the news to her as gently as possible. Night had already sold his soul to find the love of his life. She laughed saying he had already found this woman, it was her of course. Now father laughed in her face and told her it was his own daughter that had stolen her husband. And in two days time he would be all mine."

Chaos smile enjoying the story of the rivalry between me and Luna, all just for the attention of this guy.

"So his last two days went slow, slower than a snail. It seemed time was at a stand still, it didn't want Night to let go. Luna returned home and made love to him. Closed all the curtains, locked the doors, any possible way to escape or enter gone." I pause and smile to myself at her pity excuse for safety, but that smile turns to anger when I remember as Night and Luna clutched and kissed at each other, it should have been me. "It was purely one sided though, he acted as if he were already gone his mind on me." That part I was lying about, that one part I was never sure if he actually enjoyed the love and touch of Luna.

"Luna tried everything to make him happy, just for the one chance that he would tell her he loved her. He never did though, because he didn't. He was happy when dad broke down the doors and tore open the curtains, Night was ready to leave. My father didn't know was that when he flashed out with Night, Luna had jumped on at the last second hoping to see a glimpse of the tramp that stole her true love."

"What an idiot, how could she believe that Night would like her?"

"She was beautiful once, but that's a different story. When father returned home with Night and Luna trailing behind he called out for me and I came prancing in. Luna gasped, she had seen me before. I was the girl that Night would take walks with and say we worked together, I was also at their wedding, standing in the back against the wall. Watching as the one person she loved say I do when he were dreaming he were marrying me. She screamed at me and came running but father flashed her out before she could hurt herself. She was returned to the surface trying to tell anyone that would listen that her husband was enchanted by the devil's daughter and then dragged to hell."

I shake my head, the next part Luna didn't deserve but I was happy she got it. "She was sent to a mental asylum, locked her up and threw away the key. When they saw she wasn't aging after twenty years they did test but found nothing strange about her. So what do people do when their scared, they tried to kill her, they tried to euthanize her. She passed out they thought she was dead they disposed of her body and when she woke up she went into hiding, waiting for the times to change. When she came back in the nineteen hundreds she returned to America with her self title in check, bought a casino on the strip and waited for her time." I blow some smoke out of my nose making me calm and feel like a dragon.

"So why does she hate you?"

"She hates me because I stole the so called love of her life, made her sell her soul to my father, got her locked up in an asylum and made her live a life of loneliness."

"Well that's crap, you didn't pressure her into selling her soul to your dad. Did you?"

" NO! I'm not completely evil. The worst part though his that Night doesn't remember Luna at all. So that's another reason for her to hate me. I wiped his memory of her." I smile because I'm saving him the trouble of remembering that crazy bitch.

" But don't you think he deserves to remember why this freak woman kidnapped him and why the person he's supposed to be protecting is saving him." Chaos smiles because she knows she's right.

"Okay. Ugh, sometimes I swear you aren't always right. When we rescue him I'll light up and restore his memories unless Luna has kissed him then he's already got them back." The stoplight in front of me turns from red to green and I can see the ramp that leads from underneath to the surface. I press the gas pedal to the floor and speed ahead to the top and stop when I see who's standing in front of the exit.

"Where do you think you're going?" I raise my head up to look him right in the eye and then shrink back down in my seat.

"Hi dad," I feel my cheeks burn and then I curse under my breath for not calling him when Chaos said too. There she goes being right again.
