Ace dropped some books on the table with a loud slam. We were all in the library, looking for some science books that would give us ideas for a project.
"Okay, so these are the books I picked out," he said. "They're some ideas about what we should do for the project."
Kate picked up one book, and read the title out loud.
"Growth In Plants," she said. "Hmm."
I picked up a book.
"Examining H2O Levels," I said. "This sounds pretty interesting."
"Well, I'll let you guys pick. After all, I'm no good when it comes to picking things to work on." said Ace, while walking into a section filled with novels.
I nodded, and opened the book. I flipped to page two, where it began to introduce the H2O levels. After reading for a while, I looked over to Kate and tapped her. She looked up from her plant book, and looked at me.
"Wanna switch?" I asked.
She nodded, and gave me her plant book. I gave her my book.
The book explained that it depends on what you do to the plant effects its growth. After a while, Ace came back.
"Hey guys. Did you figure out what you'd like to work on?" he asked. Kate looked at me and nodded. I nodded back. We handed Ace the book on H2O levels. He nodded. "Sounds good. I'll find out some more information."
"I'll bring a tri-board and supplies!" volunteered Kate. Ace nodded.
Ace turned his attention to me. "What are you gonna do, Poison?" He asked.
What can I do...?
"I can print out pictures of the different levels..." I suggested, a bit unsure about if that was important or not.
"Good, thanks." He smiled at me.
I smiled back.
"Guys, I'll be right back!" said Kate, suddenly running to a section filled with romance novels.
Ace sat down next to me. "So...um, would you mind telling me why you wear the hoodie...?"
My whole face went red. "U-um... well..." I began.
"Ah, I see... If you want to keep it to yourself, then that's fine..." he said, a bit flustered. His face was red as well.
"S-sorry... I just don't really tell anyone..." I said, silently.
"Don't worry about it. J-just...forget I asked." He replied, silently as well.
It was quiet.
Kate came running back with a handful of romance novels.
"Hey guys!" she cooed.
We both stared at Kate.
"...Guys?" she said, a little worried.
I forced a smile. "Let's go."
