As I walked away, I felt their eyes burning into the back of my head. The temptation to turn back was killing me. I could already make out their expressions.
Worried.
I made my way back into the building and went upstairs early.
I knocked on the door I stood in front of. The teacher greeted me happily.
"I see you came in early! Do you wanna get started?"
I nodded, and sat down at the very back of the classroom. I pulled out my class schedule and scanned through it.
I have a class with Ace and Kate.
I buried my hands into my face. What was I going to do? The situation was going to be awkward. I sighed as I shoved the class schedule in my bag and pulled out my textbook, notebook, and pencil.
This was going to be a long afternoon.
...
The next two classes passed by quickly. I took a deep breath as I stepped into my last class.
As soon as I walked in, I noticed Kate, sitting in her seat, fidgeting. Then, she started swinging her legs and tapping her pencil against her desk. Ace was laid back in his seat with his eyes closed. I made my way through another row of seats and sat down as far away as possible from them. A couple of students came in. They sat down all together and started chatting. The teacher wasn't back from his lunch break yet.
I sat there in silence. I wasn't sure if they had even noticed that I was there, and I wanted to keep it that way. More students came in. I looked down at the desk.
When is that teacher coming?
Finally, a taller man walked in, who had dark brown hair, and hazel eyes. He wore a button down shirt, with a blazer, and dress pants with his loafers. He smiled at the class.
"Let's get started."
I heard some murmurs from a couple of the girls.
"He is so cute!"
"Wow, his eyes are so gorgeous..."
Who is this?
I glanced up for a second and then looked back down.
I can't worry about that now.
Suddenly I felt a cold hand touch me. I looked up to see the man who was claimed to be gorgeous staring down at me.
"Hello, young man. And who might you be?"
"Um..." I mumbled.
He leaned closer. I gazed into his eyes.
Who...?
I quickly wrote my name in my notebook and leaned over so he could see.
"Hmm. What a interesting name." He said in his smooth, calming voice. "Well class, I am your new teacher. Call me, Mr. Simmons."
Everyone nodded, except for me. Kate was smiling brightly, and Ace, who was barely nodding.
Did they even see me?
I shrugged and class began. Everyone was fascinated with the new teacher. That gave me time for myself.
Soon, class was over. Mr. Simmons waved at every body who had left. As soon as I was about to leave, I glanced back, and he gestured for me to come over. The class had left already.
I walked over to him silently.
"Hey, Poison." He smiled. "You can sit, if you like."
I shook my head slightly, and stood by his desk.
"Well, anyway, I just wanted to tell you that you should participate more." He said.
I shook my head no.
"Why not?" He asked.
"I don't like to talk to people I'm not close with..." I muttered.
Apparently, he heard me.
"Well, you just talked to me. Does that mean we are close now?" He teased.
I shook my head vigorously.
He chuckled. "Well, you're dismissed now." He waved me off, and I walked quickly out of the classroom.
As soon as I got out, there were two people waiting for me right by the door.
Oh no...
