the day of their date arrived and shihyun showed up at nahee's house in a thick white sweater.

"are you cold?" nahee asked, her eyes widening when she saw his rather unconventional choice of clothing.

"no, you know im hot, nahee." he grinned, shrugging slightly. nahee rolled her eyes and went to get her things.

meanwhile, nahee's mother had come out from the kitchen, excitement evident on her face.

"who would have thought jinkyung's son and my daughter would be going out like this." she placed a hand on her chest, smiling happily.

shihyun could only stand there and nod, feeling slightly more awkward than he should be feeling.

"mum! stop that." nahee said as she came back to see her mother fawning over poor shihyun.

"come on, we're leaving." she made a joking face at her mother before taking shihyun's hand and pulling him along with her.

"okay, sorry about my mum. i heard our moms sort of planned for their kids to be together when they were younger." she laughed.

"well, then im lucky its me and not my older brother who gets to take you out." shihyun said suddenly aware that nahee was still holding his hand.

nahee also noticed it at the same time and shyly let go of his hand, dangling it by her side instead. shihyun reached and grasped for her hand once more, causing her cheeks to go red.

"uh so, where are we going? and im surprised you're not using any puns." nahee said, realising the empty feeling without shihyun and his lame puns.

"we're headed to my house for a while... my mum wants to see you." shihyun said, sighing because he knew it would be a repeat of what had happened at nahee's house earlier.

"oh.." she said, her mind wandering all over the place about the 'interrogation' that she was expecting from shihyun's mother.

"dont worry, my brother will probably be there. since he never leaves the house. so you can use him to make things less awkward." shihyun said.

"that makes it sound like things will be even more awkward." nahee laughed, wondering what shihyun's brother was like.

"oh and why should you never eat clocks?" shihyun asked out of nowhere.

"what?" nahee stared at him in confusion.

"because they're very time consuming!" shihyun did finger guns at her.

"remind me again why i agreed to go out with you." nahee facepalmed.

"because you like me, duh." shihyun said, before flushing red.

"oh- uhh.. funny joke!" nahee stuttered before clapping her hands and changing the topic. shihyun gave her a knowing smile as they stopped outside his house.

the moment the door was opened by shihyun's mom, nahee was enveloped in a big hug.

"oh! hello auntie!" she greeted shihyun's mother with a smile.

then, she spotted a boy slightly older than she was sitting by a computer with one cat on his lap and a smaller kitten climbing around on the computer table.

"yongguk, say hi!" their mother hissed and the boy stopped his game to greet nahee, still holding on to the cat that was on his lap.

"oh hello. im yongguk. this is tolbi. and thats- that's rcy." yongguk said, turning around trying to navigate the small kitten who was trying to climb up the couch.

"now i see the reason for the cat puns.. and pickup lines." nahee said to shihyun, who nodded and looked affectionately at the cats.

"i always knew you two would end up together somehow." shihyun's mother said.

"it's literally their first date." yongguk pointed out as everyone went to sit down at the couches for a while.

"more than any of the dates you've gone on." their mother shot back and yongguk shut up, stroking tolbi with frown on his face.

"..anyways, nahee and i should get going." shihyun said, after clearing his throat.

"oh yes, don't want to stop the magic of love!

"mum!" shihyun glared at her before he nodded at yongguk as a goodbye and they left the house.

"how are our mum's exactly the same." nahee groaned, understanding what shihyun felt with her mom earlier.

"well, forget that. i was thinking we could go to han river and maybe do some cycling? sounds good?"

nahee perked up immediately, she liked the sound of that.

---

they had gotten a tandem bike to cycle with and it wasn't working out well because a certain someone kept spouting bicycle puns.

"why can't the bicycle stand on its own?" shihyun asked from the front.

"dont tell me." nahee said, panting as she pedalled.

"because its two tired." he said, laughing as they cycled.

"i thought i liked cycling but i guess not." nahee said, making a face at his pun even though he couldn't see it.

"aw, you don't like cycling? but cycling wheely likes you." shihyun said. "i wheely like you too."

if nahee was slightly speechless before, she was really speechless now.

---

before heading back the went to get ice cream which shihyun was very insistent on because he was dying in his thick sweater.

later on when they arrived outside nahee's house, shihyun looked around and whispered to her.

"do you want a kiss?"

shihyun close his eyes and leaned in. nahee did the same, waiting for the kiss. but it never came.

when she reopened her eyes, she saw shihyun standing there with a smirk on his face holding a small candy in his hands.

"a hershey's kiss?" he handed it to her. nahee's face turned red and she snatched the chocolate from him, a pout on her lips.

while she was looking down at the chocolate in her hands, still feeling embarassed, shihyun spoke again.

"hey nahee?"

she looked up at him and was met with a kiss. a real one this time.
