Adriana's Pov

I haven't seen or spoken to carter since Friday...my parents kept me inside, they didn't want me leave because they thought I would tell carter everything and they didn't wanna go to jail.
I just stayed in my room and listened to music on my laptop, since I don't have a phone..
Today is the day, Sunday... The day my parents finally leave for a year!
Freedom!!!!!! Now your probably my parents might still go to jail for leaving me alone since I am still 17 but I'm actually turning 18 in a couple of days so its okay...
"Hey we are leaving now" my dad says entering my room hiding something behind his back
"Okay" I say looking at my bed sheets
"Here" he says throwing me a small box
I caught and looked at the cover it was an Iphone!!
"Happy birthday" he mumbles turning away and walking towards the door
I jump on his back and said thank you and my goodbyes, the same way I used to do it when I was little..
He chuckled a little and then ruffled my hair like he did when I was little and walked away..
I miss that... I missed my old parents the one that cared..
I heard the front door slam and I knew I was alone for a whole year! I was happy yet upset at the same time because although I will be abused-free I will miss the times my parents were nice to me ...
Anyways I took my new phone and started searching up online on how to use it..okay dont give me that look this is my first phone I don't know what to do!!
Once I got used to it I looked t my contacts to see mom and dad already entered.
I put some music into my phone before walking out of the house and into the park to my little secret area..
Once I got there I saw a guy sitting there looking at the carvings I drew on a tree stump.
"Hey?" I said and when the guy turned around I saw it was him!
"N-Nash?!?!" I said ran into his open arms
"Hey Ana how have you been?" he says hugging me tight
"Oh you know the usual I said giggling abit
*Flashback a year ago*
I was the new girl
I'm happy I moved because I was getting tired of the jerks in my school, me and my bipolar parents moved here because they got a new job here.
There are still the same abusive and horrible people...
Anyways My mom, she was in a good mood, talked me to get out of the house and explore and so I did I walked to the park and found it was completely empty except for this one boy who was on the swing set he seemed upset
"Um hey are you okay" I asked him sitting on the swing next to him
"Umm uh yea" he says looking away real quick to wipe his face
"Are you sure" I said looking at him
"Well.. no" he says looking down then looking at me
He had really pretty eyes..
"Hi my name is Nash" he says looking into my eyes
"Adriana" I say back smiling at him
He gives me a small smile before looking down again.
"So..What's wrong" I say
"Um well my girlfriend is cheating on me with my best friend" he says looking at his feet
"Oh, well she's clearing blind to cheat on someone as wonderful as you! She is stupid dont be upset about that!" I say rubbing his back
He give me a small smile " it's just that we have been dating for almost 2 years! it's upsetting I thought she was gonna be the one" he says
" Well something's just aren't meant to be. She is just a bump in the road in finding the one" I say
He gets up and hugs me and thanks me
"Thanks maybe she isn't the one.." he says
"Mhmm" I say hugging him back
We stayed there for awhile..

-Three months later-
Me and Nash became best friends but sadly he had to leave for 9 months to see his dying grandma.
"Good bye Ana" he says hugging me tight
"Good bye nashty" I say my eyes started to tear up
"I'll come back I promise" he whispers into my ear
"Pinky promise" I say breaking the hug a little to raise my pinky
He chuckles but intertwined our pinkies
"Promise" he says

"I kept my promise" he whispers in my ear
