Chapter 4: Date

I hop in Jacks 4 wheel drive. He insisted that we take the bands car so that he could make sure no one else goes anywhere but I'm pretty sure it's because he wanted to be a gentleman which is cute.

When we pull up to the movie theater I see the girls Porsche in a park with its hood up "you know their going to see IT right? You don't have to see it if your scared" Jack says pulling the car into park.

I smirk over at him, it's only been out for a few days and already I've seen it ten times "are you scared? Jack Avery, the boy who can sing and dance onstage is afraid of a clown?" I ask laughing.

He smiles "singing and Dancing onstage is different, you don't have your fears chasing you while you do it."

We hop out and he locks the car. We head straight into the movies and grab out tickets that Jack also insists on buying. I don't budge on the food so we go halves. When we finally sit down in our seats we're two seats up from Daniel and the girl.

I turn to Jack to find him staring at me I blush involuntarily and he breaks out in a grin "so, you never told me what her name was, I thought Aspen was you managers daughter" I say trying not to sound like a stalker.

"She is, but he's away right now so we have a backup manager, but that's her, she just died her hair."

"Well, maybe I should get my dad to become you third manager, I could date one of you then right?"

He laughs loudly causing people to turn and look at us, I see Daniel looking our way and I quickly pull Jack on top of me so he doesn't know it's us. I let a breath I didn't know I was holding go and turn to find Jack looking down at me. For a second I can't breathe... what is happening?

Daniels P.O.V

A loud laugh sounds behind us and I can't help but feel like I know it, I turn around to see a boy and girl topple onto the ground the boy after the girl and smile. One day I hope I can have fun with someone like that, maybe I could with Kara.

I feel guilty all of a sudden. I kissed her and then now I'm here with Aspen her arm wrapped around my waist and her head on my shoulder. I push her off as the movie starts, I told her I hadn't seen it so she would back off.

Another laugh sounds and I look back a bit annoyed to find a girl with brown hair standing up next to a curly haired boy. My breath catches in my throat as I watch Jack and Kara laugh and giggle.

They look perfect together.

Jacks P.O.V

I become quiet as the movie starts showing Georgie and Bill making the paper boat. I look over at Kara to find her smiling at me, slyly. I raise an eyebrow in answer and somehow silent words form between us

How scared are you honestly?
On a scale of one to ten?
Obviously...
I'm not scared at all, because you here
That's really sweet actually.
Yeah... just don't tell Daniel, he'll kill me for being here
Well I invited you, he can blame me.

I smile and grab her hand intertwining it with my own and either to my surprise or my downfall, she doesn't let go. I turn back to the movie only to turn back a minute later to find her staring down at the back of Daniels head. She'll be the death of me.

Aspens P.O.V

I wrap my arm around Daniels waist and cuddle into him. Every few minutes he turns around to look at something, at first I think it's just the projector until at one point I turn back as well and see a cute couple.

No. Not just any couple I can just make out Jacks curly hair in the darkness, shining like a beam, telling me he's there. I then turn around thinking he's just looking at his friend when I realize he was looking at the girl.

When Daniel isn't looking and a bright screen comes on I turn around to find a beautiful brown haired girl sitting there. I turn back to the movie knowing I've seen her somewhere then I remember.

I get my phone out and fish for a photo of the girl that had the rare disease. I find it and show Daniel the article.

Sixteen year old Kara Bell Williams beats her rare disease for the second time in the past year. Her disease doesn't have a name yet, that's how rare it is. Doctors say it only comes in her family bloodline and two others, it's basically means they cant talk for a period of time and are left unconscious in a conscious body. In the other two cases that have been seen, the patients only lived to fifteen, Kara beat the odds but sadly her twin brother who ALSO had the disease didn't. Kara is making a full recovery and seems to be starting a normal life for herself, though her whole family is in mourning.

Daniels face turns white and he stands up suddenly, this isn't going as planned.

Daniels P.O.V

I rush up the stairs to Kara and she stands when I reach her I smile and grab her face in my hands "I'm so, so sorry, I knew you had the scars, but that disease..." I say quietly so Jack doesn't hear.

Her eyes widen and suddenly she rushes past me and out of the cinema. I rush after her, Jack rushes after me and after a few seconds Aspen joins the panicked conga line and we all rush out of the movies.
