When he told me that I started crying. I wanted so hard to not believe him but I could feel the truth of his words and sometimes I did wonder why I felt different than my family.

Jack pulled me closer to him so I could cry into his chest.

“I want you to go on.” I said. He gave me a confused looked so I continued, “I want you to finish the story,” I choked out.

He nodded and began again gravely, “Your mother had suffered from so much shock and depression that she felt into a statue-like state. She doesn’t eat, talk, nothing. The doctors gave her something to sleep so now whenever anyone refers to her they call her sleeping beauty. Legends of sleeping beauty came from her,” he said proudly.

“Your dad searches for you every day. We knew that you would be reincarnated but when Earth Is populated by about 6 million people looking for one person in particular is kind of hard,” he said.

“Ted found you and he fell in love with you,” said Jack.

“How?” I challenged. “He’s only known me a couple of days.”

“Each of us have a thing called a soul mate,” he explained. “You’re Ted’s soul mate. He knew it from the first instant he saw you. How he knew you were the princess? Because Ted is the prince of the Cyphers and was destined to marry you to continue the long line of peace between the warring races.”

I looked at the sky in awe. Today had been a long day and just finding out that you were the princess of a supernatural race was too much for her to handle.

I felt my head start to hurt and I looked at Jack.

“Nina? Nina are you okay?” asked Jack. I tried to say something but no words came out. I doubled over in pain and sighed in sweet relief when blackness took over.

I was standing in a beautiful room built for a queen. Anywhere you looked it just screamed expensive and fashionable. Then I noticed her.

There was a woman who was on the bed sleeping beautifully. She had raven hair and round lips. Her complexion was pale and I could see the slow and steady rise of her chest indicating she was breathing evenly.

I closed the distance between us and knelt at her bedside. She was muttering something over and over. I strained my ears to try to hear what she was saying. “Nina come back,” was all I needed to her to know that this woman was my mother before the scene in front of me went black and I woke up tied yet again.

Raquel’s POV

I dressed in a black shirt and black pants that clung to me like a second skin. I put on black tennis shoes and tied my blonde hair into a ponytail. Today was the day I would save the future queen’s life, I reminded myself.

Ted had debriefed me on the details of his plan to recapture Nina. He was surprised that I was actually willing to help but he decided not to push it by asking me.

Ted’s P.O.V.

“Ted! Ted!” I heard Cece yell my name.

“Yes?” I patiently asked.

She seemed out of breath and was clutching on to something with dear life.

“Cece?” I asked worried.

“Ted,” she panted, “the phone.” The she pushed the phone into my hand violently. I looked at it as if it were a foreign object.

“Hello?”  I said cautiously.

“Ted, nice to talk to you again,” greeted Jack.

I gritted my teeth but answered, “What do you want Jack?”
