Hello hello 😋 And welcome back readers!

~~~~~
His dark hair, olive toned skin, and deep brown penetrating eyes that could be so intense and yet simultaneously be gentle were mesmerizing or at least more interesting than whatever Kat's teacher was lecturing about. She was beginning to notice things about Jake that she hadn't bothered to realize before. For instance, she had recently come to notice that chewing on pencils seemed to be a habit of his whenever he got bored which seemed to be quite often except for math class, he was good at solving equations (unlike Kat). She couldn't help getting distracted by the beautiful boy sitting two desks away from her, he made her curious and piqued her interest in a way that no one had before. "Kat? Kat!" The teacher's voice demanded her attention and her eyes reluctantly looked to see a not so happy Mrs. Gill who was tapping her foot impatiently, she must have called Kat's name several times before Kat even noticed she was being spoken to. "Y-yes?" She cleared her throat embarrassed to see her classmates were watching her as well, she could feel the heat rising into her cheeks and she lowered her head refusing to make eye contact with anyone.
She could almost feel Jake's eyes on her and she imagined his face must look like every else's- annoyed, but when she mustered up the courage to glance at him, she realized that he was smiling. The teacher sighed softly fixing the glasses which rest on the crook of her nose, "Pay attention." She scolded before turning back to the board. Kat bit her lower lip and bent her head low once again hating the feeling of those staring at her. When everyone turned their attention away from her, she snuck another glance at Jake whose smile had not faded as he took notes. Blushing, Kat looked back at the board trying to pay more attention like the teacher had told her to rather than be distracted by the tall dark handsome boy who she was intrigued by. Yet, her mind drifted away from the present and into a memory of the past...Specifically, the memory of Jake when he first approached her. She remembered feeling shocked and almost frightened wondering if he had come over to bully her or if he had sat down beside her because his friends dared him to, but he returned the next day and the day after that until she expected his company. She had been dismissive of him in the beginning, but after a while she dared herself to believe that perhaps this boy could be different.
After what felt like a lifetime, the shrill sound of the bell rang signaling the end of that period which Kat couldn't be more grateful for (learning about the human reproductive system was truly not her thing).  Kat was quickly out of her seat and out of the room before everyone else had even stood from their desks, she was glad to escape and hopefully now she could attempt  to forget how everyone had looked at her. Simply thinking about the prying eyes of her classmates glaring at her was enough to make goosebumps show on her skin. Moving through the crowded hallway of a public school was like trying to walk through times square; there were the occasional stoners standing near their lockers complaining about their homework while they tried to inconspicuously pass a joint between them, then there were the jocks tossing around footballs and occasionally they would trade out the football or a basketball, and don't forget about the stereotypical sort of popular girls who always seemed to be dressed as if they were about to wall on the runway. High school was not Kat's favorite place to be, but it was where she felt safest so she overlooked the fact that the bathrooms constantly smelled of an unknown overwhelming stench and avoided the people that made her almost prefer to stay in the bathrooms rather than sit next to them. Kat could accept all of these unpleasant things because even though the bathrooms stank and her pupils acted superior, it was still a better place than home. She hunched her back rolling her shoulders forward as she pushed through the noisy crowd and made her way to American History at a slow shuffle.
Kat didn't make it too far when she felt someone's hand grab her butt with a firm squeeze. The one thing she wasn't sure she could handle were the perverts that did this and most girls would have shrugged it off or even giggled, but Kat was not that type of girl. The moment she felt the slightest bit of contact, her mood suddenly shifted and her body stiffened as she became on high alert. She whirled around to see a tall lanky guy with ratty blonde hair and dark circles under his eyes, his breath reeked of smoke as he leaned down towards her. He looked like a jock...a really horny and high jock and he didn't seem like he was going to stop with just one touch. He backed Kat into a wall placing his hands at either side of her head as he moved his body closer to hers, "Hey, you...Why haven't I seen you around before?" His voice was much deeper than she had expected it to be from the looks of him. Kat's heart was threatening to explode from her chest and she felt like she was about to be sick, her stomach was doing somersaults. She thought of her dad as the boy pressed his own body against hers. After what had happened with her dad the other night, she was even more paranoid.
