Hello!!! 😋

The next morning, a sweet aroma drifted up the stairs filling Kat's nose and her eyes fluttered open to the sun shining in through the window. For a moment, Kat was confused about where she was until she remembered and the corners of her mouth turned upwards into a large cheshire cat sort of smile. She forced her body into a sitting position despite how exhausted and drained she felt from the night before. Her eyes wandered around the room carelessly until they fell on a body stretched out across the floor. Surprised, Kat's heart skipped a beat at the sight before she realized it was Jake. She took a deep breath and smiled slightly looking down at his peaceful body spread out on the carpet beside her bed. She took note of the little details on his body like the small dimples at the bottom of his back and how his full light pink lips parted in deep breaths or how adorable his hair was even though it was messy.

Kat shook her head pulling her attention away from him and mentally slapping herself for acting like a stalker. She lied back down staring at the ceiling and waited for Jake to wake up not wanting to disturb his rest. She wasn't sure how much time had passed before a groan came from beside the bed making her smile, "Jake?"

His voice answered almost immediately, "Kat?" He croaked.
She rolled over and peeked over the side to look at him, "Hi." She reached down ruffling his bedhead hair. "Hey!" He chuckled grabbing his hair and looking up at her with a small smirk playing across his lips, his eyes were teasing in a sense. She smirked back at him propping her chin on her hands and looking down at him mentally noting how adorable he was.

"Hey sleepyhead." She swung her legs over the side of the bed, "Whats the plan for the day?" Kat ran her fingers through her hair hoping she didn't look like a troll though she probably did. Jake's shoulders moved up and down in a shrug, "School." He answered and the word caused Kat to groan, she had forgotten they had school today, but at least it was Friday. She was trying hard to stay positive as she got up reluctantly from the bed. Jake left the room so that they both could change in privacy, Kat moved to the closet like a zombie pulling out a new pair of jeans and a batman t-shirt. As she changed, she thought back to when she was lying there in the bathroom nearly naked and Jake refused to look at her body. Instead, he kept his eyes on her face never allowing his eyes to wander. It had been a simple action with a big gesture of meaning. She sighed walking to a small vanity and pulling her hair to one side. Kat separated her thick curls into three separate sections before her fingers started folding the sections of hair underneath one another in a pattern. As she braided her hair, she couldn't help, but wish Jake could forget last night though she knew she would never forget. She didn't want him to remember her moment of weakness, but she also didn't want to forget the moment they shared together in that bathroom.

When Kat finished braiding her hair to one side she simply put a hair tie in before walking down the stairs. She saw Jake waiting for her at the table alone with a plate of two fancy bagel looking things in front of him and another plate waiting at the seat of an empty chair meant for her.
She smiled and ran over sitting in the chair before pulling the plate close to her. The sweet aroma she had smelled when she first awoke filled her nose once again and she sighed happily as she picked up the steamy gooey piece of food, "What are these exactly?" She nibbled on it a bit seeing if she liked it. Jake almost choked on his food hearing the question, he looked at her bewildered, "You've never had a cinnamon roll?"

She shook her head, "A cinnamon roll..." Kat repeated and took a bigger bite deciding she liked it. Jake watched her with amusement dancing in his eyes and an idea forming in his mind by the look of the mischievous smirk that had appeared on his face. Jake waited patiently for her to eat and once Kat finished her two delicious cinnamon rolls, Jake bounced to his feet eagerly taking her hand in his. Wrong move. Kat flinched. She still wasn't used to people touching her yet, the mere thought could make her squirm in discomfort. Jake immediately apologized releasing her hand, "Come on." He nodded towards the door as he started walking towards it.

Kat grabbed her backpack and swung it over her shoulder walking after him. Jake glanced back to see her with the backpack and shook his head, "You won't need it." She looked at him arching an eyebrow, but laid her backpack on the floor without any questions before following him to his car. Like a gentlemen, Jake politely opened the passenger door for her. "Shiny volvo owner." She joked as she stepped inside and sat down. Kat heard him laugh before closing the door. He walked around the car before getting in, he closed the door and started the engine. "Where to?" Kat asked watching him, but also trying to make it like she wasn't staring. Jake smiled, "You'll see." He looked over at her and winked making a light pink blush rise into her cheeks. She lowered her head hoping he wouldn't notice her red face as he pulled out of the driveway and drove down the road to wherever they were going.
