Daughter of the Sea

Chapter 1

JULY 1, 1998

It was a sunny day here in New York. Sally Jackson was feeding one year old little Percy his lunch. Percy started throwing his food everywhere and his mom was not happy at all. " Percy, stop that right now," Sally frustratedly said. Percy didn't obey his mom and kept at it. "Ugh... I'm pregnant and I'm almost due and now I have to pick up this mess. Just great," she said while shaking her head. While Sally picked up the mess, she felt something wet going down her leg. She gasped,and said " My water just broke." She totally forgot about the mess Percy made and was still making. So Sally grabbed her confused son and ran out the door. She buckled him in the car and drove off. They finally made it to the hospital. " Come on Percy I'm in a lot of pain," Sally said. She speed walked and told a nurse she's pregnant and that the baby was coming. The nurse then rushed her into the room, with Percy in her arm. Nurses were surrounding poor Sally. She was screaming in pain while giving birth. The doctor finally delivered the baby and gave it to Sally. The nurse whose name is Megan brought Percy in. "Mommy! Wut u huv in yor arm," Percy asked.

" Honey, meet your little sister Alyssa. Your a big brother now!"

" Awyssa! She sho chubby!" His mom laughed. On that day everything seemed so perfect. But nothings stays perfect for anyone.

A couple of years later...

"Mom we need to hurry, it's Alyssa's and mines first day of school! We don't want to be late," yelled Percy.

"Okay honey. I'm almost done," Sally yelled back.

"Percy, Percy! Its my first day of school! What do they do Percy? Can you tell me Pleasssee," Pleaded Alyssa.

"Okay I will," Percy said. She cheered. Although Percy wouldn't tell her until she gave him a big hug and kiss on the cheek. Alyssa did exactly what he asked for, but he thought it wasn't enough. So they argued until Percy had to take desperate measures... He tickled her to death until he got another big hug and kiss. Finally after about 2-3 minutes he got what he wanted. Just before he was going to tell his little sister what she wanted to hear, his mom called out and said " Come on kids, you're going to be late for school!"

" Oh well little sis. You'll find out when you get to school," Percy said.

" No! You said you were going to tell me!!! You promised," Alyssa said while tearing up.

" Let's go kids," Sally said.

" We're coming," Percy yelled.

" Yeah coming," mumbled Alyssa. The whole car ride was silent and all you can hear where sniffles from Alyssa. They finally made it to their elmentary school. Before their mom could say anything Percy spotted his friends and dashed out of the car while saying " Bye mom! See you after school."

"Percy wait your... nevermind. Okay sweety let's get you down." So Sally got her daughter down and they head towards her school. Out of nowhere Alyssa broke down crying and said between sobs" He didn't wait for me mommy. He didn't even tell me how kindergarten was." Sally tried to comfort her sobbing daughter. Finally Alyssa calmed down. She hugged her mom tight and told her she was ready. Before they could take a step, Sally gasped. "Poseidon is that you?"

" Yes it is. I haven't seen you in awhile. And who might this be," he asked while bending down to Alyssa's height.

" Umm Poseidon... that's your daughter. Alyssa say hi to your daddy please."

" Uhh hi daddy," Alyssa said nervously. Her dad chuckled and replied " Hi sweet-heart." They both smiled. Then Alyssa went to go give her dad a hug. He was shocked at first, then he hugged back and had a bigger smile on his face. Sally enjoying the scene, had to sadly ruin it by asking why he, (Poseidon) was here. He then nodded and told her why he came. Poseidon explained to her how he was part of the big three. And that having Alyssa and Percy together  was very dangerous (attracting monsters and all). He then proposed them getting separated. Right when he said that Sally snapped. "No! That's never going to happen."

" If you want the best for them you have to do this Sally." Sally was conserding this then shooked her head no.

" Isn't there another way," she asked. Poseidon sadly shook his head. " Oh... Okay then if its for their own good then... fine."

" Great I'll take Alyssa, while you take Percy." Sally shook her head and was trying not to cry. He knelt down to Alyssa's height again. "Hey honey, how would you like to live in a big house, and have your very own room!"

" I'd love that!! Would mommy and Percy come," she exclaimed with joy. Sally and Poseidon looked at each other sadly. Alyssa saw and looked down. " Its okay. I'll go, so I can be safe." Her parents were shocked at what she said, and yet were proud that she understood, especially at her age. She said her finally goodbye to her mom and left with her dad. Right when they were leaving Poseidon turned around and said " I'll make sure she goes to the camp to help her. Oh and I forgot, you can't tell Percy what happened today." Then they walked away out of her sight. Sally went home and cried her eyes out before she had to pick up Percy.

Sally pulled up to the schools parking lot and found Percy coming towards her. She was dreading this moment. " Hi mom!"

" Hi son, how was your first day of school," she asked while trying not to make her voice crack. She pulled out of the parking lot while Percy was telling her all about school. They finally made it home and Percy finally said " So... that was my day and where's Alyssa," he asked. When he asked that Sally dropped her keys on the ground. Percy was worried and asked if she was okay.

" Honey your sister was... kidnapped." Sally then just broke down crying in front of her 6 year old son. Percy couldn't believe his ears. He was outraged and mad. Not only at those kidnappers but at himself. He never got to tell his little sister how kindergarden was and she'll never know. It was 9:00,and you can still hear the sobbing.

" NO THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING," Percy shouted out of nowhere. He fell to the ground and was crying yet again.

" Percy you should go to sleep, okay," his mom said in a sweet voice.

" Okay mom, but I promise you I will never forget her, never!"

" I believe you. And neither will I."
