Day 3
Ace was on the deck reading as he was up early again. So far he felt a little relaxed, but he couldn't stop thinking about what might be happening back at home. What if there was an emergency and he had to be there? Sure, he trusted his siblings, but Rob still had a lot to learn.. A familiar voice broke him out of his thoughts and he looked to see Dia at the door.
"Hello Dia. Come on in." He smiled.
"Hello Ace. Are you alright? You looked rather distracted.." She asked as she sat down beside him.
"Yeah. I'm alright. Just thinking."
"Mind telling me? I understand if not." He smiled. She was always so considerate of him..
"I'm thinking about home. What might be happening there now. I'm a doctor, Dia. My brother, Rob, can match me, but even he has more to learn. I'm just worried about what might be going on and if they need me. Rob convinced me to come here."Dia nodded as she listened. A doctor.. So that was his job. She gently placed a hand on his shoulder and smiled.
"I'm sure they're fine. If they wanted you to come here, then they're confident that they can handle things."
"Thank you Dia." Ace smiled a little as she smiled back.
"Would you like me to get you anything?"
"Hm.. Maybe some coffee."
"Alright. I'll be back." She said softly as she stood up and left the room to get Ace some coffee. She couldn't help but think about it. He looked like something else was bothering him, but she wouldn't force him to tell her. She would let him open up. And hopefully he would.Ace smiled as Dia left before sighing softly. Something else was bothering him, but he couldn't tell her. Yet. His brother's words echoed through his mind.
'Don't let what happened take away your future, Ace.' He would try not think about it while he was here. Especially if it were to worry Dia.
