Chapter 8

Sam's POV

I was woken up but my dearest son Alex. He always gets excited when he finds out i packed his bags. Road strips are his favorite cause either i take him to meet his father or just a nice long trip. I quickly got myself cleaned up before he barges into my room and pulls me out with my pyjamas. I remember that day like it was yesterday.

"Mommy wake up"

I was pushed of the bed by little hands. He stood the laughing while looking like he had accomplished something amazing. I looked and my boy who was all dressed up and cleaned. I couldn't help but laugh.

"Hurry up mom " he whined

I walk with him and next thing i know he hands me the keys.

" We got to go i packed all the bags"

I was so surprised that he would do something like that. How did he even find out about the bags that i had hidden.

"I have to get changed first then I'll come "

He scanned me from to bottom not seeing anything wrong with me. How he looked like his dad on our first date saying i looked beautiful no matter what i had on. I took in a deep breath and made my way to the car and of we went.

" Judy, hurry up"

I heard him scream from the top of his lungs. Poor Judy she must find it weird that a bag is packed full of her clothes and Alex is screaming on the top of his lungs. I made my way to the sitting room and saw the both of them waiting.

" Judy road trip! "

Alex said while spinning her around in circles bridal style. All she did was laugh, the smile that formed on my son face nearly reach up his ears because of her.

" Put her down Natealex"

I told him and he did as his beloved mother told him. I looked at Judy she looked so beautiful and it made me happy my boy likes her. Well he won't admit it now but i know he does. Ever since that day she lost her mother and my best friend i didn't know what to do. She was to young to remember me and Alex lived with his father that time. Jenny was a lovely woman even though her husband Mark left her. Those two were inseparable the day she came to me telling me he left her i was angry. The sadness in her eyes made my heart break. I knew she couldn't live without him even though she acted like she stopped caring. She was breaking from the inside. The day i wanted my son to meet Judy was the day the worst thing happened. At first i had thought of it as something small but when the paramedics came and told her time of death 10:40 i had known that her body couldn't handle all of the stress.

"So where are we going "

Judy asked me with shy smile. She resembled her mother so much better without those glasses and her brown eyes had a sparkle in them. The dress Emily lent her was the one i chose for her since she had such bad taste. It brings so much joy to me that Lucas and my husband John are working together. They have such incredible talent. I broke out of my thoughts and saw Alex also curious to where we are going.

"Well what will be fun about telling you about my surprise? "

I took my keys and walked to my car. I felt i breeze of air past me and saw the two racing each other. Before i knew if Judy touched the car first followed by Alex.

" How the mighty has fallen. "

I said laughing at my son who was just beaten by a girl.

" I let her win "

He said with the well known Alex smirk and opening the door as he mumbles something. I climbed into the car and drove of into the road. It became silent and i put in a CD which i saw Judy liked the other day.

" You must be an athlete to run past my son dear Judy"

I said with an amused tone that caught Alex's attention. He looked at Jade waiting to heard her response. She took a few minutes thinking on what she wanted to say.

"Well Sam I'm not fast at all Alex is just naturally slow"

She said in a singsong voice that was so funny that i had to laugh.

"Mom you know i fast it's just all these muscle weighing me down "

He said while flexing whatever muscle he sees is there. Before i could say anything Judy beat me to it.

" What muscle are you talking about? "

She laughed at him. He then typed something on his phone and seconds later Judy's phone vibrated on her lap. She opened the message not being able to see i look at the road.

" Very mature of you "

She said. The song ended and then another one came on.

How much i miss going to church with my son but he always seem so busy. I still wanted to go with him even if it was just for some minutes it meant so me when he went. I then looked at Judy who was lip singing the song word for word. I was shocked.

"You know the song"

I had to ask her maybe just maybe she can got with me. She nodded her head.

"Would you like to go to church with me on Sunday's "

I asked and she looked excited. Alex on the other end looked curious.

" I'd love to Alex your coming right "

He just gave her a nod and smiled. By inviting on the other comes along. I took a turn on the right and the Lake house i had bought two year ago came to sight. I saw Alex look at it. He always loved it here i held his birthday party here last year which he could never stopped talking about. I cant wait for him to turn eighteen to give him this place. Well what can i say just three more years to go. I parked outside and Alex literally jumped out of the car.
