chapter 24

Jack POV

It's been a week since Judy was seen. No one knows where she could be and it's davestating. Nate and I made up and decided that when we find her we will make her choose who she wants between us although I know it will be him. Today my bother Nate and I are planning to break into her house to find some clues. Even if a case is open it takes way too long and I have a feeling that times not on our side. I got a text from Cal telling me it's safe to go. We left separately not to be too suspicious he's excuse was his girlfriend and mine was Nate. I left the house giving my mom a quick kiss on the cheek and met up with them.

"No backing out"

Nate says and we all nod our head in agreement. We reach the house and it looks lifeless.

"Is the window still open"

My brother asks Nate while we walking

"Yeah nobody has gone there I've been watching"

Nate say sadness evident to his tone.

"You've been waiting for her to come back, but we both know she isn't unless we bring her back"

I say slightly irritated. He has no right to be sad when the both of us could have prevented this it's our fault all our fault. No one was watching her but I saw it. She was always guarded the past days and I could see se was sleep deprived. Something was keeping her up taking her attention. They don't know how much I pay attention. I once heard Nate slip something about her dad he then laugh it of but I could tell how nervous he was.

"Stop blaming yourself it's not your fault"

My brother placed a reassuring hand on my shoulder. I shrugged it of.

If only I knew something. Or could someone be related to this whole mess. We enter through the window making sure to leave it as we found it. It was the bathroom we ended up in water was dripping from the tap causing a soft ecco. Our footsteps later on created the noise. All I could think of were names and I had only one in mind. Lola. I stopped dead in my tracks and the stopped with me. Everything made sense I knew Lola's dad was doing illegal work but why would he need Judy? What makes her special?

"Her Father"

Both my brother and best friend looked confused. How could the have not noticed this before.

"Nate why are you dating Lola now?"

He look shocked then confused.

"You know about her Dad and if she's with me she's safer,Plus her Dad asked me this one last favor."

Cal's eyes started widening with suprises he might be catching on.

"If Lola's father is doing something dodgy and they took Judy it means someone from Judy's side is also involved but who"

It was quite cause everyone was thinking that is the only missing piece of the puzzle if we can only-

"Her Dad"

Nate said in a low whisper. Both me and my brother stared at him wanting to explain more.

"Before she disappear I was helping her look for her Dad it slept my mind so she must have kept looking all i can do is try and remember his name if that will help?"

Now they were looking at me but I was already los in thought. She uses her laptop for almost everything maybe if we could find it. I know it's creepy but I've seen her type in some passwords maybe one could open something. I told the guys what I thought and we headed towards her room. Her laptop was easy to find and after a few attempts we were able to see a lot of research. She had made folder that would take to long but one thing that caught my attention was the adress or location she had in her folders listed important.

"Do you know where this could be"

I asked my brother but he shook his head.

The next morning we met up again. With the amount of school we were skipping we are about to get expelled sooner or later. We had to catch a cab there and trust me the ride was really unpleasant. With the drivers bad music and and everyone so anxious besides me ivwpuld do everything to not be here, but I have to. For her.

"Your here"

The driver said after a few hours passed by.

"I know this place "

Cal said shocked and slightly shaking. It was a small house and looked empty and dusty on the inside.

"I didn't understand why she kept looking outside she was so pale"

We all looked at him something but where does this leave us? She is still missing and I know for a fact Nate is hiding something. He's been quite too quite it's unlike him. I feel like I should take my chance and ask what could happen.

"Nate"

They both looked at me but he nodded for me to continue.

"Your hiding something and for us to find her you need to tell us everything."

He became pale and I myself was afraid he might just pass out.

"It was anonymous, the job said place a recorder inside the house and leave it on. They gave me all the equipment. "

We stared at him with concern. This whole job thing to an anonymous person wasn't knew to us he'd ask weird things and we would do it but usually it was toghter when we were hanging out. Cal look furious.

"WHAT THE HELL MAN!!!"

He yelled ready to punch Nate in the face.

"He told me he sent you all to a location how was I suppose to know"

Nate replied with a weaker voice. He seemed lost in thought he was he must finally realise  that--

"The anoymous guy must have something to do with this all"

We all just stared at each other...
