I woke up the next morning on a coach with layers of blankets on me.
"Hey." I heard a soothing voice call.
Michael came and sat over next to me.
"Here, I'll get you some water." he said getting up.
"Where's Luke?" I asked turning my head.
"Oh he knows about everything. I told him." he responded.
"Well, what did he say?"
"He's coming over in a little bit."
He came back with a tall glass of water.
"Here you go." he said quietly.
I chugged the water down quickly, as if I hadn't had water in days.
"Thanks." I replied.
Michael put his hand on my cheek, stroking it gently, then leaning in close.
I backed away a little, getting the sense he wanted to kiss me.
"Michael I-."
"No, I'm not going to kiss you."
"Then what were you doi-."
"I wasn't doing anything okay? Luke is coming soon. I should start getting dressed."
"But-."
"I'll be back."
Michael couldn't be falling in love with me,
He was my best friend.
Best friends don't fall in love with each other.
