A/N: I couldn't help but smile at all of the comments from the last chapter. I wasn't expecting such a reaction from you guys. It made me happy. Anyway, I do apologize for the slight insanity of the beloved blonde named Maka. I had to add a bit more gore to the picture to show how deep in the madness she actually is. I really hope this chapter is just as good.

Soul shone the flashlight into the shadows, the light scanning over a torn apart rat. His face scrunched up into a look of disgust as he looked around the other parts of the alleyway. He wasn't surprised when she wasn't there.
"We'll find her, i'm sure of it." Tsubaki had been trying to comfort everyone, but it was getting more difficult for herself to be relieved of her own words.
"I know." He shrugged as he walked further through Death City.
Then he saw it. If he hadn't stopped to control his dazzled mind, he would've missed it: a pair of shoes. They were muddied and torn, showing that the owner had been through some kind of struggle.
"Are those...?" Tsubaki asked.
"Yeah. They're Maka's..." Soul straightened up, shining the light on his meister's boots. There were spots of a blood on it, causing his gut to wrench. "We have to find her."
Soul tossed the shoe down and hurried off to where the shoes had been leaning.towards.
Sure enough, It didn't take them long to find her.
Maka was stumbling alongside the sandy path, her hair falling loosely around her shoulders. It'd been a few weeks since she'd gone missing and it showed on her features.
Her nails were caked with dirt, her hair knotted and coated in dirt. Her jacket hung off of one shoulder, showing the cut sleeve of her blouse and vest. Her skirt was ripped along the side, revealing a long gash on her thigh. She was barefoot, her heels bloodied from splinters and peeling skin.
Her body was so thin. There seemed to be a stain that covered her chin, but Soul decided to worry about that later.
"Maka!" he dropped his flashlight and ran over to her. She kept on walking, either not hearing him or pretending he wasn't there.
Soul stopped in front of her, placing his hands on her shoulders. Her green eyes were lifeless, speckled with what seemed to be dirt.
"Soul..." she muttered, her eyes not leaving his face.
"Maka, we have to get you home."
His meister furrowed her eyebrows in confusion before she jerked away, her eyes narrowed.
"I can't go back. They won't let me."
"Who won't let you?" She didn't respond at first, her features calming again as she stared blankly ahead. "Maka, who won't let you?"
Maka looked at him blankly. "Them. Lady Arachne and Medusa."
"Maka, they're gone. Remember?" Soul asked, stepping towards her. "They can't hurt you."
Maka's eyes widened and she looked away. "Yes, they can." She bit her lip. "They're angry, Soul. We hurt them. They don't want me to go back..." She stiffened, her eyes turning to the area beside her. "And they want you dead."

Sorry for the bad writing and the small cliffhanger. I will be updating soon and hopefully will have a better schedule for when and what I will update. Anyway, sorry it was short. I'll make it up to you guys in later chapters. Fair warning, it may be getting a bit darker, violent, and psychological in coming updates. Probably won't be terrible, though.
