Dan's POV
"Dan!" Riki smacked me in the arm. "The guys just identified the three girls."
"Did you have to smack me?" I rubbed my arm, seeing a red zone develop.
"Yes," she nodded quickly. "Hailey Crane, Iggy Harlow, and Cecelia Mariner."
"H, I, and C," I stroked my chin. "The second, third, and fourth letters in the word Chicago."
"Eight more to go," Crystal walked back to the table.
"We need to fucking figure out which state Hannah would go to," I slammed down my phone and rubbed my temples slowly in frustration.
"Twelve letter states," Alicia mumbled as she typed the phrase into Google, before her hand was suddenly grabbed by Riki.
"Hun, when I'm here, you don't have to search that up." Oh yeah...I forgot she's American.
"State names?" Alicia and I stared at the F. B. I. agent.
"West Virginia, New Hampshire, and Pennsylvania," Riki said. Hmm...
"I have an idea," I pulled up the text conversation between Hannah and I. "Don't worry, just go along with it."
"Fine..." Crystal raised an eyebrow at my idea, probably passing it off as peculiar.
Me: what's your favorite letter?
"You're fucking kidding me, right?" the Vancouverite, scoffed.
BUZZZZZ
"Not so fast," I raised my hand in the detective's face.
Unknown Number: not H.
Unknown Number: I guess it would be W, X, Y, or Z
Unknown Number: those are the most unique tbh
Unknown Number: what's with the sudden question Daniel?
Unknown Number: ohhh I get it 😏
Me: I'm going to find you
Unknown Number: what makes you think it's that easy?
Unknown Number: what about Detective Barnes? You're just gonna ditch him here while you go and chase me?
Me: he is fighting for the justice of sixteen other people, and he doesn't give a shit whether he's in the hospital.
Unknown Number: oh, and you should check the news
Me: ?
Unknown Number: it's about a friend of yours
Me: what?
Unknown Number: go to a place that has the Fox News channel...it'll be worth it (279)
Me: what the fuck is that?
Me: Hannah?
Me: fuck you!
"That bitch!" Crystal violently scrunched up the napkin in her hand.
"Someone check Fox News," I looked around the cafe. "Hannah said there's news about one our mates in London," I quickly packed up my stuff and threw it into my backpack.
