Dan's POV
"Dan!" I heard a female voice call from behind me. It was the woman who had suffered the most from the Nightmare Murder Case.
"Chrissy! How're you enjoying the party?" I asked with a bright smile plastered to my face.
"It's great!" she replied as she poured some soda into her plastic red cup. 'She's lying. Just ask her what's wrong.'
"Something's wrong, isn't it?" I mumbled as I grabbed a couple potato chips from a bag sitting on the table.
"Yeah," Chrissy let out a sad sigh from her lips. "The doctors don't know when Woody'll wake up from his coma, and I'm too scared to take him off life support. What do I do?" the C. S. I.'s fiancée gave me a panicky look.
"For all we know, he wasn't pointing at Will to identify The Nightmare, it was to clarify that he wasn't the attacker," I said, trying to comfort her. "Don't let the doctors take him off life support, he might wake up and be able to identify the killer," I advised, Chrissy nodding in response.
"Okay," she replied quietly.
"Try not to think about it too much, eh?"
"You're right. Let's just have some fun," the fiancée smiled, taking some celery sticks out of the veggie tray.
I shoved the topic of Woody to the back of my mind, forcing my worried brain to enjoy myself for once. Mostly everyone from the L. P. D. was here; Ralph, Orton, Kim, Andy, Hannah, Shelly (the bitchy desk woman), Constable Portlain, Chrissy, Janna, Kyle, Morgan, Alicia, other constables and detectives, and a guest I didn't even think would show up after all the terrible events that had happened- Awuoi. 'She bothered to show? I wonder why...' Will's girlfriend spotted me, and walked towards me, opening her arms for a reunion hug. God, I never knew how much I missed her presence. Though Awuoi wasn't my girlfriend, she was an incredibly amazing person to be around.
"Awuoi!!!" I shrieked with shock and joy in my excited blue eyes.
"Hi, Dan!!!" she came in for a hug, her sweet scented hair filling my lungs. And in seconds, other pairs of arms wrapped around the former detective's girlfriend. We all missed her.
"Awuoi!!! We missed you so much!!!" Janna held her hands with excitement. "There's so much we need to catch up on!" the two woman exchanged their eager looks, walking off to the snacks and drinks. 'Women,' I chuckled at the three girlfriends of my colleagues, who had invited Alicia to chat with them, most likely letting the young woman in on girl gossip. 'I'll let them be...'

"Everyone!" Detective Orton shut off the music to speak. "Before we continue with the party, I have some important news to tell you," my superior donned a calm, yet serious looking expression. "As we all know, we've lost two people; Detective Will Farquarson and C. S. I. Chris Wood. Well, unfortunately, we're saying goodbye to another beloved member, Ms. Hannah Ross- Wilson," I nearly gasped in shock at the low number of people working in our unit. "But I took it upon myself to recruit a couple new colleagues who I think will be excellent member of our division."
'I wonder who he's recruited...' my curiosity brought me to bizarre ideas or imaginations of who Detective Orrin decided to hire, from a woman to a teenager, I couldn't stop my endless amount of thoughts. That is, until the two new recruits showed up at door leading from the front entrance. One was a young man, possibly younger than me, with a similar appearance to Kyle, but striking similarities with Will, like his blue-grey irises. The other was another man, possibly in his early forties, and he had dirty blonde hair in a side brushed hair style, a medium height, and green eyes.
