Kyle's POV
"Why's Dan taking so long?" Morgan pouted, over exaggerating his complaint.
"Shut the fuck up and wait!" Alicia nudged him, immediately making him shut up. We've all been seeing Alicia in a whole new world, silently fearing for our lives ever since she revealed her secret ninja abilities. I was the most terrified in particular, being the one who had gotten the shit whacked out of them.
"No time to worry about coffee," Detective Orton sternly looked at his phone. "We have other things to worry about," he held it up, showing the rest of us the shocking message from Dan. A single picture, no words, of the one thing all of us dreaded, the person we all had nightmares about, her.
"Fuck," the only word I managed to blurt out. 'How?! Isn't she done?'
"This doesn't make sense!" Ralph said with shock on his face. "The Nightmare is done killing, so why come back to haunt Dan?"
"Because she's not done with us," all eyes laid upon my female protégé. "A girl isn't done until she's satisfied herself," Alicia mumbled. "This woman is not finished her killing spree, in fact, I think she's just started."
"That was only the first wave?!" Morgan's mouth dropped open in awe and horror of our situation. "I mean, I love doing autopsies, but this, this is way too much, even for three coroners!" he exclaimed.
"Well, you better man up, 'cause this killer might have another blood fest coming at you," Alicia reminded her friend.
"Fine," Morgan made a sassy pose as he let Alicia push him around with her words.

"Guys!" we all looked up from our phones, seeing the tall-haired man frantically entering the building- with a drink tray in his arms.
"Dan?! You actually bought us drinks?!" Detective Orton was the most astonished out of us. "Detective, you didn't have to!!!"
"Pff, of course I had to, you guys are my best mates," Dan smiled as he handed out each of our requested drinks.
"Sometimes I think you're too nice to be a homicide detective," Orton chuckled, a small smile forming in his eyes.
"Um, you haven't seen his real personality outside of the work zone," I rolled my eyes.
"Oi, just because I dislike your morgue humor doesn't mean I'm a mean person!"
"Well, you could at least diss them in a nice way," my mouth pouted with defeat.
"Fine, maybe I will, but that's the least of our concerns," he frowned.
"He's right," the chief detective crossed his arms. "We still have a dangerous murderer on our hands, and we have to try and exonerate Detective Farquarson."
"But it didn't work last time! Prosecutor Smart turned it down! Remember?" Alicia reminded.
"So? We'll try again and again until we get him out," Dan smirked. "I don't fucking care what Smart thinks, he's not the king of the world."
