The Fate of my Soul.

Part 30

   Now that the battle is out of the way, and my wounds have been seen to, I am back at the main hall, with The Fox Clan and my Disciples enjoying breakfast. Though I had to stay away from the infirmary least Qian Qian saw my wounds, which are not too deep, but they did require some effort on Zhe Yans part to close them.

 The Skylord however will be out of action for months, the damage to his legs is severe, but he will live.  And to add insult to injury, I ensure the whole world hears of the battle and his resounding defeat.  They will also learn of the reason behind his abdication, it is my final assault on the man who is lucky enough to live.

Looking about the hall, I notice The Fox Empress and Lady Li Xu in deep discussion.  Their conversation is quite animated and lively, and going by their gestures and facial expressions their conversation is enjoyable.  Great!  I think to myself, Lady Li Xu will keep that woman busy, and out of my hair.  

Li Jing too is in deep discussion with Chang Shan.  It seems the two of them have finally found common ground and any animosity they held for each other, has passed.  Perfect, because with the eminent escape of Qing Cang from the bell, the two of them will be able to work together to ensure the safety of all clans.   And knowing Li Jing, he will not allow his fathers return, mainly for the protection of his sister, whom he loves very much. 

And that thought brings me back to Qi.  I am worried about his mind set.  I understand his confusion  and that perhaps his loyalties are torn, but as his spiritual father, I cannot afford to lose him, he means too much to me.

Finishing breakfast, I head back to my chamber to contact Die Feng.  I am surprised he has not made contact yet.  

"Shifu, everything is alright.  Qi and Yan Zhi  are acquainting themselves with each other, and so far they are happy with my presence here." he informs me.

"Good, stay with them, Li Jing and I will leave to collect you all shortly." I inform him.  Though I hadn't actually planned on it, it seems to be a good idea, and once I have them both under my protection, the sooner I can begin planning stage three of my plan.

Deciding to visit Bai Qian before I head to the Mortal Realm with Li Jing, I find her out of bed, and talking to Su Jin.  Though the girl is still unconscious, Bai Qian talks softly to her, mainly of her childhood and her days as a Kunlun Mountain Disciple.  

Coming in behind her, I envelope her body into a gentle embrace, causing her to suddenly drop Su Jins hand and turn to face me.  Though I can clearly see the remnants of her tears, she is no longer crying, but her eyes are pained.  Drawing her in closer, I hold her tenderly as she lays her head against my shoulder.  "I will gone for a an hour or so.  I need to collect Yan Zhi, Qi and Die Feng from the Mortal Realm." I inform her.

Looking up at me, she smiles and nods.  "Ok, don't be gone too long, I'm feeling much better, so I will stay here to help Li Xu with Su Jin."

"Alright, but I want you to eat something first, you have not had anything substantial for a few days alright?" I insist before adding, "And you are not yet well enough to be out of bed for too long.  After your meal, I want you to return to bed and rest."  then, giving her no time to argue, I  lead her towards the hall to her mother to ensure she does actually eat something.  

Then after a few words with Li Jing, we leave immediately for the Mortal Realm.

Ye Hua had returned to the Celestial Palace with his Grandfather to oversee his healing, since the Celestials Medicine King was at Kunlun Mountain, though he would have to now, go between both sites to deal with his two patients.  And it is while there, that Ye Hua learned that Bai Qian had taken over Su Jins care personally, having given up her own healing and care.
