For a long time we talk. Just the two of us in my meditation cave as I relive every feeling, every emotion every ounce of love that I have for this woman, and the overwhelming feeling of loss that she has suffered. First for the sacrifice, and then for the repercussions of losing my memory which sadly saw her pay the consequences.
We have been in my meditation cave for nearly 3 hours and every now and then, I would hear whispers on the other side of the barrier, but not yet ready to let this moment pass, I hold onto her tightly least she slip from my grasp once again.
It is when I hear Zhe Yan roaring from the other side of the barrier, that I ask her to explain to me what had happened at the Celestial Palace. I want to be fully prepared, once that barrier comes down. And what she tells me, has my head reeling. "You did what?" I ask, gently lifting her away from me, hoping desperately that I had misheard.
"But Mo Yuan, he deceived me, I lost my temper." she cried into her hands as her shoulders trembled. "I didn't mean to..." but her words trailed off, lost to the tears that were consuming her.
"Oh Qian Qian." I whispered. No wonder he never followed her, no wonder they are demanding her presence. And as the roaring becomes louder from outside the chamber, I understand now why Die Feng was furious, as is Zhe Yan. But I cannot let her take the blame here, it rests solely with me.
"I will fix this, don't worry." I soothe her. "Stay here, while I talk to Zhe Yan." I add before lightly kissing her head. Then moving swiftly to the entrance, I lower the barrier and step through, forcing Zhe Yan back so I can raise it again on my exit.
It is raining heavily when I exit, and the sound of distant thunder only intensifies the dire situation I have now found myself in, and taking in the look on Zhe Yans face, the storm brewing above us, withers in comparison, and nor does he attempt to mask it, as he throws a thunderous glance at Bai Qian before she disappears from view.
Holding my hand up, to still anything he has to say, I immediately launch into my own outburst. "I have reclaimed all of memories Zhe Yan, and I am officially ending both marriage arrangements." And that stops him in a tracks, even if its for a brief moment, but its enough, to move him away from my meditation cave and towards my chamber.
"She attacked The Celestial Tribes Princess, Ye Huas side consort, seriously wounding her, she is barely alive!" he roared the rage within him fully unleashed the moment my barrier went up. "Not only is she his side consort, she is very much loved by the Skylord, he raised the girl as his own, after her whole Tribe died in the Ghost War, she is the last remaining clan member and treated very much a part of the Celestial Tribes family." he was almost incoherent with rage.
"Zhe Yan, it was an accident. Su Jin ran into the chamber during their fight and got hit, Bai Qian never meant to hurt her." I explain. "Bai Qians temper can be astronomical at times, and when she reaches that stage, which she must have done, she loses all reason, but I know Qian Qian would never have turned her anger on a innocent, and so do you Zhe Yan." She wouldn't, she has always been righteous and honorable in all things.
Sitting down, his head drops into his hands. "Bai Zhi has already returned, but I was able to keep him in Qing Qiu for now, but it won't be long before he arrives with her mother. Bai Zhen is also making his way back from his estate as we speak." he says, his anger no longer roaring, but I can see he is still angry. I need to weigh my words carefully, the last thing I want, is the entire Fox Clan to take on a responsibility that is not of their making.
"How badly injured is she?" I ask. For Zhe Yan to anger to this extent, suggests the damage is more than serious.
"She's critical. Bai Qian used the fan to destroy Ye Huas chamber. When Su Jin heard the commotion, she rushed straight in, taking a direct hit. Being a Low Immortal, she is no match for Bai Qians Goddess energy, she was literally thrown from the chamber and out across the courtyard and right now, her life is hanging by a very thin thread."
