Shawn's P.O.V

"I thought you said this was a high school party not a college frat party?" Demon says as he parks his car on the edge of the sidewalk to Jase's house.

"It was supposed to be..." I murmur as I watch a boy in his late teens fall face first into a neighbour's front yard pond to then get pulled out by his drunken hysterical friends.

Even though it's only nine o'clock we've had to park a few houses down from Jase's because the party is already in full swing. It seems to be overflowing from Jase's house to his neighbours as the whole street is full of college kids off their rockers. Music booms from inside his three story house and I'm confused to how nobody has reported a noise complaint yet.

"Looks like Jase's cousin really did bring his whole class." Stefan laughs from his seat at the front of the car.

"What do you mean class? Stefan, he bought his whole freaking school!" I whine, there' no way I'm going to find Emily in that wreck and also keep control of my hunger at the same time.

"Just don't kill anyone otherwise have a fun night kids. I think after this week we all deserve a little treat." Damon grins as his door shuts behind him.

I watch as Damon and Stefan get swept up in the crowd of party goers before I make my entrance. I pray to God I don't drain some poor kid dry tonight.

Emily's P.O.V

Jase's party is in true Jase style by ten o'clock. Everyone and their dog have turned up to this one and Tyler wasn't lying when he said it was going to be a big one tonight. I didn't realise that Jase's cousin was in college but with him only being a year older it would have made sense if only I had thought about it more. College students know how to throw a party that's for sure.

"Emily come on," Becca whines into my ear as she starts tugging at my arm. "Let's party!"

Of course my best friend is already wasted before midnight. Her knowledge of when to slow down her drinking is lacking compared to her academical knowledge - she also wouldn't be my best friend if she were any other way. I love my goofy drunk friend way too much.

Being slightly tipsy myself I let Becca guide me to the dance floor, otherwise known as the sitting room. The room which takes up most of the downstairs space is huge compared to my sitting room at home. All of the three sofas have been pushed to the side of the room and the massive flat screen tv on the wall is playing the latest remixed pop song. I'm pretty sure the volume is turned up to max but my almost drunken brain doesn't mind and neither do the hundreds of other teenagers crammed into the house.

Becca and I start dancing wildly to the music. All of my anxious thoughts and feels drift away as my body rocks to the beat of the music and for a minute I have no care in the world. It's just me and the loud base enjoying myself. Somehow through my tipsy dancing I end up against the rock hard chest that I know so well. His scent drifts to me bringing back so many happy memories. I look over to see Becca flaunting her way across the room to Jase who can't seem to keep his eyes off the dark haired girl as she treads into his space.

I continue dancing with my ex, my slurred brain not comprehending the consequences this might entail until it's too late. By body grinds up against his warm body unknowingly and his hands are suddenly on my hips pushing me closer to him. For a minute I want to kiss him, I want to be closer to him but truly feeling parts of his body I stopped wanting to touch a long time ago reality crashes back into me.

I look over Tyler's shoulder to see the real person my feelings are directed towards. Shawn is watching me from the entrance to the room. His expression is blank but I know he wishes he were dancing with me instead of Tyler.
