It was around 9:30PM and Namjoon was concerned that Emma's mom had not retrieved her yet. He had asked Emma about it but she told him that she hadn't been taught how to read a clock yet. He fixed a small dinner and slid half of it onto another plate for Emma which she accepted as she continued to watch the never-ending loop of cartoons on the TV.

Namjoon went to call Emma's mom but he realized she hadn't left a number to contact her with. Maybe her mom had returned home and expected Namjoon to take Emma back home by a certain time. He got up and pushed back the blinds that shielded his view of Emma's house next door. All the lights were out except for the porch light which was on at all hours of the day.

"Emma, how do you usually get home when you're babysat?" Namjoon asked her.

"Mom picks me up," she answered, not taking her eyes off the TV.

Namjoon sighed. "Do you think I should walk you home? You're mom hasn't contacted me at all."

Emma shook her head. "Mom will pick me up."

Namjoon finished his dinner and finally decided to take a stab at the large amount of dirty plates that had built up. But before he could start, the doorbell rang. Please let it be her mom, Namjoon thought as he walked over to the door.
