It was the next day – the day before the trio went to talk to Emma's dad. Said child had been taken home the night before around ten. Namjoon saw that Emma's mom had returned home rather early around three in the afternoon, but he didn't bother returning the small girl. In fact, he waited for Hoseok to knock on his door and ask for Emma. Namjoon sent the little girl off on her way, telling her to come back to his house if she felt scared again.
The clock was now inching toward nine in the morning and Namjoon was cleaning his fridge out. He'd grimace when he'd open leftover take-out boxes filled with food from days he couldn't recall. He discarded all the expired food items in the limited selection he had, along with the cans of soda that were all open but not finished. When all was said and done, Namjoon was left with a bottle of water and a small, plastic bottle of mustard. A quick look in the freezer wasn't much different and only left Namjoon feeling sorry for himself.
The boy stole a glance at the clock on his microwave and saw the numbers change from 8:59 to 9:00. And right on the dot, a knock on his door was heard.
"Uh, I'm coming!" Namjoon shouted, peeking into the small area in front of his door to see someone's shadow. He expected it to be Emma's mom dropping her off like she had the first day. He quickly ran his hand through his hair, retrieved a nicer looking shirt from the laundry and opened the door right at 9:03.
Instead of being greeted by an older woman with thick lipstick and a little girl behind her, Namjoon was met with a boy his age, maybe slightly older by the bored expression, but shorter. He had black hair that reached the bottom of his ears and the nice attire he had on matched that of what Hoseok often wore. Namjoon gulped. "Good mor-"
"Are you Kim Namjoon?" the male asked, an eyebrow rising as he looked Namjoon over. He then shifted his body to his left foot, peering behind the doorway and into Namjoon's house.
Namjoon nodded, feeling uncomfortable. "Uh, yeah, I am." Namjoon moved over in the door frame to block the male's view, causing him to look back up at him with an annoyed expression. "And you are...?"
"Are you Kim Emmerson's babysitter?" the male asked, dodging Namjoon's question.
Emmerson? "You mean Emma?"
"I'll take that as a yes." The male stood a bit straighter, but still a few inches shorter than Namjoon. "I'm here on behalf of Kim Seokjin. My name is Min Yoongi."
