Probably the longest chapter in this whole book hehe

The five were seated at the kitchen table. There were only four seats, but Namjoon and Hoseok squished themselves onto one. This meeting was important and yet here these two were, only allowing one butt cheek per person on the seat, sitting like little kids who didn't want to admit that they tied in a game of musical chairs.
"You three look... distressed, to say the least," Jin murmured, a cringe on his face. "Was this a bad day?"
Hoseok sniffled, Miyuu huffed, and Namjoon just folded his arms and looked off to the side. Yoongi, sitting beside Jin, rolled his eyes in slight annoyance.
"Well, we don't have to be all business. What happened? You aren't excited to see me, the one and only Kim Seokjin?" The older chuckled to himself before sympathetically looking at the three across from him. "Why are we depressed?"
"It's really nothing," Miyuu said. "I'm uh, Miyuu Arai-"
"Emma's aunt, yes I know," Jin smiled. "Your sister has told me about you before. I'm sorry we had to meet like this and not over a Christmas dinner with the relatives." He then frowned, the pain of losing his daughter resurfacing.
"Oh, I should've known," Miyuu murmured as a slight blush on her face from embarrassment. Part of her was glad her looks brought her attention, not her poor attempts at small talk.
"You must be Kim Namjoon, then," Jin said, looking over at the boy who was biting at the skin on his fingers. "Thank you for taking care of my daughter! I've heard nothing but good words."
Namjoon swallowed. So Yoongi didn't complain about him. Maybe that was his payment for letting the moody assistant steal one of his coffee mugs. "You're welcome. She's a nice girl." But Namjoon's encounter with Jimin earlier was brought back to mind and Namjoon exhaled an exhausted sigh. He straightened up and looked at the businessman across from him. "Can you tell me why you had to leave Emma?"
Jin's brows rose. "Oh, uh, I guess so. It's not a fairytale if that's what you're wondering. If it was, I'm afraid we wouldn't have to be in this situation." He straightened his posture before he looked at all the three in turn. "I met Ms. Arai when she came to work for me at my company. She was looking for something basic to help her earn a little money, so I let her do a little bit of secretary work. I wasn't yet the CEO – my dad stepped down about four years ago to let me take his place – but he was letting me head several parts of the company for 'practice.' And, well, I caught feelings for her as she did for me, and we started dating."
"But that just sounds like a normal love story," Hoseok interrupted.
Jin crossed his legs and got more comfortable in his seat. "It was at the time. But she wanted me to go to parties with her and all that, so I was getting a little frustrated. There's nothing wrong with going out sometimes, but I'm not a party person. I like to stay at home on the off days and read a book or sit outside and watch the clouds. I told her about my wishes and she said she wanted me to go to one last party and then she wouldn't beg me to attend them anymore.
"Now, I get a bit flirty when I drink a lot, but I didn't know that then since I was underage – as was she. But I had a couple too many and I guess we just kind of got carried away. I take full blame as I should have not drank, so I'm not angry with her or anything. It just happened. But then a month later she told me she pregnant." He looked at the ground, remembering the phone call and everything. "She said she was scared, but I said I wasn't going to leave her. It was my baby, too. So I got a house for us to live in." He looked at Namjoon and smiled. "We could have been neighbors.
"However, everything good must come to an end. When Emma was born, Ms. Arai wanted to go out and party like she used to. I told her that she needed to be with the newborn, especially since alcohol isn't good if you're breastfeeding. She didn't listen, though, so for most of the time, it was just me and Emma. And at this time, I was thinking that we should get married so we could take care of Emma together. But as we went on, I couldn't put up with Ms. Arai's habits anymore. We started to fight and argue all the time and I hated it because Emma would always hear and cry. It wasn't long before I told her that I couldn't be with her anymore."
"But why don't you have Emma and she does?" Namjoon asked.
"She wanted her. When I told her that I was leaving, she said she wanted to keep Emma. With my busy schedule, I thought it would be best if I let her have her. That was when I was just gifted with the title of being a CEO, so I was doing so much work all the time and I knew that I wouldn't be able to take care of Emma if I had her with me. And I let them keep the house to make it easier. In fact, I'm still paying the bills on it," Jin huffed, annoyance clearly written on his face. "But I knew I had to keep in touch with Emma and since her mom hated me judging from the way she quit her job at my company to join the one she works with now, I reached out and found Hoseok here. Through him, I was able to make sure Emma was doing okay and still knew her appa loved her very much even though he wasn't with her."
Miyuu sniffled and wiped her teary eyes. "I'm sorry, but that's so sad."
Jin shrugged. "I answered your question," he stated suddenly, stopping that topic in its tracks. It was a hard thing for him to think about and he hated knowing how he left his daughter without an explanation – of course, she wouldn't have understood his adult words, but it would've been better than nothing. "Why don't you answer mine? Why are you guys upset?"
"We've been fired," Namjoon and Hoseok stated in sync with one another.
