The hours went on and Emma finally asked Namjoon if she could eat. "You think I'm going to starve you or something?" he chuckled as he got out a clean bowl. He realized that he would have to start washing his dishes seeing that most were piled next to the sink, dirty with leftover food.

She had sat on the floor in front of the TV. Her legs were crossed with the bowl in her lap. Namjoon had given her the remote and let her find something to watch while he started on the task of cleaning up.

While Namjoon cleaned, he thought about the mystery behind Emma's dad. Was everything that his ex had said true? When he confronted Hoseok about it, his friend shrugged.

"You really want to take it from her?" Hoseok had asked, draping a blanket over the sleeping child. He sighed and shook his head, smiling a bit. "Your ex is just as bad. She cheated, remember? Only she knows how to keep her legs closed."

"Does Emma know anything?" Namjoon questioned, trying to get as many answers before Hoseok had to return to work.

Hoseok shrugged. "I don't know, but from what she's told me, I think she knows more than what her mom wants her to. And that's probably because when Mrs. Arai had one too many, she wants to tell everyone everything." He went over to the front door and looked at Namjoon before he went to leave. "I also know a lot more than what my boss wants me to know. If you're interested in more, I'll see what I can do."

"Hey, Emma," Namjoon called as he went to the living room. An empty bowl now sat on the coffee table and the little girl was intently watching a cartoon. "Do you remember your dad?"

Emma didn't respond. She kept watching the TV with wide eyes.

Namjoon didn't bother with asking her again. He was starting to catch on to the fact that she was quiet and only answered questions in her own time. He went to return to the kitchen he heard a murmur behind him.

"He was nice."
