Namjoon decided to skip over the break-up and focus on Emma. This is no time for romance! He told himself. "So, what's up?"
"Huh?" Miyuu looked up at him, confused.
"Emma," Namjoon said, trying to restart her thoughts. "You said-"
"I lied," Miyuu interrupted. "I just... I just wanted to come by. I told you everything I knew."
Namjoon tried not to show any signs of agitation. Instead of rolling his eyes and telling her that he didn't want her moping around his house, he went over to his pantry. "I, uh, haven't had lunch yet. I was going to fix myself something but I couldn't decide on what I wanted. Want to help me make a conclusion?"
Miyuu didn't answer. She just looked around his house like she hadn't been here in years. It felt like that to him.
"Do you need to talk about it or something?"
"Where's Emma?" Namjoon felt like changing the subject was a part of everyone in her family.
He shrugged. "I don't know. She never came in today. Last I saw her was yesterday. I had to take her to her mom's work since she had a doctor's appointment. And that reminds me. Hoseok said he's probably off Monday and he'll be able to stop by and get a plan started. I forgot to text you about it."
She nodded. "I'm sure I'll be able to make it. You might have to remind me." Her eyes drifted down to the floor and stayed there as if the dirt in between the floor tiles interested her.
Namjoon felt awkward. "Um, I guess I'll fix ramen? Emma seems to enjoy it. I think I'm going to get fat eating it so much, but you know I can't cook-"
"I'm sorry," Miyuu murmured.
Namjoon turned to look at her over his shoulder. "For what? Do you not want ramen? I have other stuff."
"Not that," she stated in an annoyed tone. "For... for being a bad girlfriend. I... must have messed you up."
Namjoon turned away. He didn't want to talk about that. He had finally stopped thinking about it and he was happy with leaving the topic undiscussed. "Don't worry about it," he said in a low voice.
"Well, I am," Miyuu argued. "I don't know why I cheated. I shouldn't have. No one should. Namjoon, you're a really good guy and I should've been thankful for what I had."
Yeah, you should have. Namjoon grabbed a bowl of mac-n-cheese hastily. It was something Miyuu always snacked on before she went to work when she had night shifts. "Can we not talk about it?"
Miyuu must have not heard him because she kept going on about how she made a mistake. She didn't say anything about wanting him back, but she kept harping on how good of a boyfriend Namjoon had been. He didn't want to listen to it. His blood started to heat up as she kept talking. He spun around and just when he was about to tell her to shut up, the doorbell rang. Thank God.
