"Write a letter. It might help you grieve." Miss Peregrine had said. Not long after that, even though Hugh was sure she was not dead, he wrote a letter that would never be sent.
Dear Fiona,
This is Hugh. I know you're out there somewhere, waiting to be found. I know I'll find you.
There are so many things we wanted to do together. And even more, now that I'm in the present. Go on long walks in the woods. Go to movies together. Take silly pictures together. Wake up at 5 am to see the sunrise together. Hold hands. Sit at the beach and watch the waves. And do all of those things over again.
Everyone thinks you're gone. I know you're not. I know we'll do these things together someday. I love you.
