“You can’t wash a car looking like that.” I complained, standing on my front porch, watching him get out of his car that he’d parked in the street after he’d called me and asked me to help him wash it.
In the middle of summer though, I was very hesitant about staying in the heat for too long, especially when I burn easily. He knew that. But that didn’t stop him from getting out of his car shirtless just to tease me about how tanned he was, while I would blend into snow better than a polar bear in a snow storm.
He shrugged. “No one else is complaining.”
“That’s because no one else is around.” It was very true. There wasn’t anyone around at this time of year. They’d (everyone in our street) all headed to the beach and good for them too; Josh’s parents had left him the house for three weeks while my parents were dubious about leaving me in charge for five days. “Oh fine.” I groaned, stepping out into the sunlight and off the porch. “Where’s the hose then?”
“Only got a bucket.” He shrugged, filling it up at the tap and then grabbing two sponges from the shed.
“I’m going to burn so badly.” I mumbled, realising that there was no chance that I could go back inside now, Josh would only catch me. He wanted me to burn, meanie.
He just laughed, throwing me a soapy sponge. “I want this baby to shine brighter than your smile.”
“That was cheesy.” I sniggered, and began to scrub the hood of the car.
By the time I’d done around the edge, Josh had finished the back half of the car. But I couldn’t reach in the very middle of the hood. “Josh I can’t reach.”
“Now doesn’t that sound familiar? Not helping you this time though.” He smirked.
“Do you expect me to get on the hood to clean it?” I guessed.
“If that’s what it takes.” He shrugged replying. “Plus it’ll give me a nice view of that ass of yours.”
“Pervert,” I hissed, blushing. “Plus, my ass isn’t even that nice thank you very much.”
“Maybe so,” He began. “But you smile brighter than my car ever will at this rate.”
“Shut up with the cheesy! Please.”
“Get on the car then.”
“Again, pervert.” I giggled this time. But when he didn’t budge, I knew that I’d have little to-no choice but to get on the car and clean it. I took a breath, looked over my shoulder once more, he was still smirking at me and climbed on on my hands and knees and scrubbed the middle of the hood of the car. “You are going to pay for this.” I cursed.
“Okay, I’ll keep that in mind.” He commented, admiring the view.
He drove me insane sometimes. But at the same time, he was the reason of my sanity.
