I couldn't really describe the next day's atmosphere.
It wasn't normal. It wasn't quite awkward either. It was filled with pressure by the last few day's events, but I was also grateful that at the moment there wasn't any hate in our group. Surprisingly even I and Bolverk didn't argue as much as before. There was a shift in our dorm and I liked it to say the least. I was able to breathe freely now.
That was definitely good to know.
Since I was up all night I had noticed that someone had pushed our finished schedules under our door. At that time everyone else was still sleeping so I quietly climber out of my bed and walked towards the schedule laying on the floor. Putting the schedule on the table I went to get ready for the next day since it was too late to even try to sleep anymore. After about half an hour it was 5 AM and, of course, everyone was still sleeping. The dorm was so quiet I was able to hear some of their quite mumbles in their sleep.
I sat down at the table and quietly checked the list of lessons and times we were given.
Reading the given timetable I noticed that it was pretty boring. The worst part as that at the top of the schedule was written that this was for the whole year. Why is it boring? They have put just theoretical classes. I already know all that stuff. As I said before I had learned all of it when my father didn't let me hop on a dragon itself. And know I will have to sit through a whole year doing nothing. At least I would be able to sleep if needed.
Nice.
No really.
Nice.
You know what everyone says. Replication - mother of knowledge.
In the midst of sulking because of the boring schedule I heard a small noise from the members. I decided to ignore it and went back to the schedule. Hmm... surprisingly all of our classes were in the same room. Is that like our personal classroom? Who knows...
At least there was one perk in all of this - I would be a top student. But even if I hadn't known all this information that wouldn't change anything. I would still be a top student. What can I do? I am really like that. Praising myself so much and fighting to get what I want. It helps me to survive, otherwise I wouldn't be able to get in here.
Life does some things and you just have to fight back.
Our first-class ironically was about dragon care. Thinking back to yesterday I think that a lot of people would almost fail this semester. Like, if their knowledge is so bad what were they thinking in even joining this academy?
Suddenly I heard a raspy, deep voice, "Hey... Why are you up so early?" It was Aerinmus.
"I couldn't sleep all night," I blandly responded.
"Wait..." He went closer and sat next to me. "Are you saying that you didn't sleep at all?"
"That's what I said. Aerinmus I didn't think that you had hearing problems," I quietly chuckled at my small joke.
He groaned and put his head in his hands which were in the table now. Before he spoke up he ruffled his hair in distress and looked back up, "It's the first official day. You were supposed to have energy for today."
"Who told you that I don't?" I looked at his mess on the head while he was resting back on his hands. "Besides, I wouldn't need energy for the rest of the year. The classes are sooo boring. I would probably just sleep through them anyways." I puffed out disappointed.
"What do you mean boring?" He lifted his head up. "Give me that." Aerinmus snatched the schedule out of my hands.
"Are you kidding me?" He annoyingly laughed, but quickly quieted down as he remembered that others were still sleeping.
"I know, right? They could atle-"
"No not that," He chuckled interrupting me and went all serious again. "You need to know all of this before going to a dragon. These are basics of dragons. How do you expect to be let on them if you will just sleep thought these classes? No sleeping allowed." He said sternly.
"But I already know all that..." I whined.
"Then prove to me. Don't sleep in class and answer to all teacher's questions."
"Now you're boring." With that I let my head fall with a thud on the table while he went to get ready himself also not feeling like sleeping anymore.
_______
Soon in the morning we all found out that it didn't take too long to get to class since the building where they were held was right by our dormitory.
As we had climbed up to the fourth and last floor and entered our classroom we found that we weren't the only ones occupying this room. There were already two teams seated down they had left 6 spots just for us. That meant that this year we will have to learn with two more groups. This could either go well or really bad.
As we made our way towards the three tables with two seats at each Aerinmus speed-walked just to sit beside me. He took the seat before Joreid had the chance to do so. Huffing she sat one row behind me with Hlif as her seatmate.
I guess Aerinmus was serious about making sure I didn't sleep in class.
Please help me survive this year without any tantrums. That would be nice.
But what are the chances that my prayers will be heard?
