"Again, please remind me what was written in the note?" Hlif asked us. How many times has she forgotten now? Five? Maybe eight? I had thought with her personality she wouldn't be so forgetful.
Aerinmus looked down at the note in his hands "That we need to go to the main corpus and go to the second floor. Then we should know where to go next?" He ended the note unsurely "Why would we know where to go next?"
Fortunately Gnupa was the only one to actually run all the way to class so he was ahead of us. And it didn't take long to figure out what the note meant when we heard Gnupa shout, a long way ahead of us, "Guys?! I think I know where to go next!"
We all looked at each other. Aerinmus, Joreid, Hlif, Bolverk and I had a really confused expressions filled with determination. The five of us ran towards Gnupas voice and we saw him stand in front of a large sign informing - 'Head to the training grounds'. What also was suspicious was the fact that except us there was nobody, not even a slightest sound of a living person here.
As the rest read the sign I shot myself away like a rocket to the training grounds. Gosh... This adds more time and we are already almost late (I'm not going to mention that that's because of me). Thank God the training grounds were like around the corner. When I got there, with the rest of my group members right behind me, it was already 8:54. We're not late - yes! "What a turn!" I sarcastically mumbled.
Joreid came beside me and patted my left shoulder "Yeah."
I looked at her surprised "You heard me?"
"Yep. I have amazing hearing" She shrugged like it was nothing.
"I see..." I pulled long as I was slightly jealous of her. An amazing hearing would give so much more opportunities - especially as a dragon rider who has to be alert at all times.
She smiled a secretive smile at me. "What?" I asked.
"Nothing."
"No, there is something. You wouldn't just smile at me like that if there was nothing. We're friends. Remember? I know you want to tell me something."
She chuckled with a small grin. "You're right, Skur. I have something under my skin. But I won't tell you now. When we will be alone - then. Other people shouldn't hear our conversation." And then she winked. Aish - this dork.
"Hear what?" Bolverk asked with a smirk plastered on his face and Joreid showed me that 'See?' look which confirmed her part.
Joreid silenced herself still with a small smile lingering and he grew suspicious.
"You know?" I stated at him, "If I will ever see you make that unpolite smirk or attitude I'm gonna smear it off your face."
He smirked even more, "You wouldn't do that. You're a girl."
I put my fist against his face not joking anymore. "Try me."
"Sure." Bolverk rolled his eyes not believing me.
Before I could launch at him Aerinmus came and held my fist in place with me unable to move it. "Stop it you two. No fighting. We have to show our best side to everyone if we want to be on the top."
"Well maybe my best side is showing that I'm not just a girl. That I'm a fighter inside. Seriously. When will you guys stop treating us like we can't do anything?" With that said I turned away to go find a place where we should go, since I saw that every group here had a specific place to stay.
My eyes searched for a specific flag and I saw it at the very end of the training ground with Mr. Starisson written on it. I made my way to it and with a sight plopped myself down on the soft and green grass "Yes! I can finally rest."
"Hello, fellow students!" I heard Ingeltores voice really clear and loud.
"Are you fucking kidding me? I just sat down." I grumbled annoyed and stood up.
She continued "As you see we are in the training grounds where we learn some of the most important lessons about dragons specially for all of you as riders. Your trainer today will be Mr. Bork Rognvaldsson. Please welcome him."
Everyone started clapping as he appeared at her side.
"I have bad news for every one of you. Today we won't train." He announced with a wide smile knowing how we won't like the news.
And with that there were many annoyed protests heard. I don't know if he's sadistic or what but his smile got even bigger if that was even possible.
But while everyone was angry there was me alone who was relieved.
"Thank God!"
