Thorin hadn't been able to shake the thought that had entered his mind, since hearing the hobbit say Freya had left nearly a month ago with her family. Family? What did he mean by that? Did it mean she had moved on from him? Did she have children? What was he going to do if that were true? He couldn't just expect her to leave them, for him to go back to the mountain.

The king had to calm himself. He was already jumping to the worse conclusions and he hadn't even found her yet. At least he could feel some kind of peace, knowing she was alive for now, even though a lot could have happened in a month since she left her home.

The three Dwarves wandered into Bree to stop for the night. Thorin wanted to keep going but he knew the other two were exhausted and he had to admit he was beginning to feel warn out himself. Thorin had something to eat that night, a mug of ale and turned in for the night. He hoped he would get some sort of decent sleep - if that were possible.

He closed his eyes that night. His dreams were only filled with images of her and every moment they were together. He woke up the next morning, surprisingly feeling more rested then he had since he left Erebor to find Freya and bring her home, to their home. The three dwarves carried on early in the morning, continuing on their way to Rivendell. Before leaving Bree they stocked up on more food provisions to last them until they reached the Elven valley.

With each passing day Thorin grew even more anxious as they got closer. They were at least 5 days from Rivendell now. It was just beginning to get dark when Gloin and Thorin started to recognize the familiarity of there surroundings and noticed the certain 3 stone statues.

"Aye, these buggers sure gave us a hellish night." Gloin grumbled in disgust, remembering the day like it was yesterday. Thorin nodded in agreement. The king did a quick glance around the overgrown area until he had to look twice to see fresh blood on some rocks and blades of grass.

"What did you find my lord?" Gimli asked, joining beside him.

"It's blood."

"You don't think it's hers? Or any of the ones she's traveling with, do you?" Gloin dared to ask.

"I hope not..." Thorin trailed off. "...come, we need to keep going. We're only a couple of days away from Rivendell." The king declared and continued on his way. The other two staggered behind their determined leader. They traveled through the night, well into the afternoon of the next day until all of them were in need of few hours rest before continuing on.

The next two days went by in a blur for Thorin. It was late at night when they set up came on a rocky hill. Gloin and his son were snoring away. He wandered a few feet away from camp and sat on a rock, smoking his pipe, staring off into the night sky. They would be in the accursed elven valley by tomorrow evening. His only hope now was that when he and the other two arrived, Freya was still there. Though he would search every corner of Middle-Earth for her if he had too. The Dwarf finished smoking his pipe and walked back over to his bedroll to get some rest.

The three men were up at dawn. Gloin was cooking something for all of them to eat before they got back on the road. Thorin wasn't particular thrilled to be coming back to this village but he wouldn't let that ruin his time when he could finally see the one he loved and hold her in his arms.

The sun was just going out of sights behind the tall trees, making for beautiful colors throughout the sky. Thorin had been having one other thought that had been constantly on his mind. How did he come back alive? He felt disgusted with himself that he was actually going to ask for Lord Elrond's help on how this came to be. He knew Freya was going to want answers and as much as he wanted to find her right now, he would seek the Elf Lord's help first so he could give her answers as well to himself.

The three of them stopped before the bridge. " Never thought we'd be coming back to this foul place." Gloin stated glumly as he glanced around to see elves poking their heads out from behind pillars and bushes.

"Were here for a reason father. To find this Freya and to find out about this so called Ring." Gimli stated.

Thorin led the way. Glancing around, not failing to miss all their shocked faces. The king climbed the stairs and asked that he speak with Lord Elrond immediately. The elf, Lindir led him to where the Elf lord was at.

Lord Elrond turned around and found this to be impossible.

"Thorin Oakenshield it appears you're death has been slightly misleading." Lord Elrond stated.

" It appears so." Thorin agreed.

"And you want to know how it is you're alive."

"It had crossed my mind." Thorin muttered, he forgot this elf was worse then Gandalf when it came to getting a straight answer.

"I'm afraid, I don't have the answer to that. But I can tell you that you aren't the only thing that this new force brought back. I fear darker things have arised." Elrond feared.

Thorin wasn't sure what to make of this at all. " Has...is Freya here?" He had to know next.

"She is. I'm afraid she's resting right now. She's had a very tiresome journey, since arriving 6 days ago. As I'm sure you and you're men that have accompanied you. Lindir will show you to your quarters. " The lord declared. Thorin nodded at his generosity and followed Lindir to go find the others and get some rest and tomorrow he would find Freya. He didn't get the answers he wanted but at least he could look forward to tomorrow as he closed his eyes.
