A crowded room filled with doctors. Demi's husband, Justin, on her right holding her hand and telling her to take short huffed breaths. The pain is faint because of the epidural but it's still there. Demi knows she looks like a mess but the focus is all on the baby. Two months early. She was a premature. That made her nervous but the doctor is telling her everything is okay. They continue encouraging her and telling her that she's doing great. Demi glanced back at Justin and the night comes back to her.
It was the third time that Demi and Justin were trying. However, she could feel something was different this time. It was promising. Everything was so gentle, so magnificent. He was reassuring and careful. When it was over the two of them knew something would be different. And it was. Here she was 7 months later delivering her first baby.
Olivia. Olivia Nicole Bieber. Since the two of them met, Justin has always talked about how he wants to name his baby girl Oliva. Demi, not only fell in love with the name, but also with him. Almost every night, Justin read to her stomach, talking to her. She could feel the love for him, from her. When she heard his voice, she kicked. When she felt his touch, she was calm. He rubbed Demi's stomach, talking about how he couldn't wait to hold her. He would tell her how beautiful she was going to be because of her mother. Before he slept he would kiss her stomach, almost more than he kissed Demi. Justin has anticipated this moment more than anyone in Demi's family. She can tell that when he's telling her to breathe and push that he is also telling the baby girl waiting to experience a bright new world.
Demi hears the doctors telling her that she's almost there, just a few more pushes. The pain is fading away now and she was getting lightheaded. Justin leans down and gives her a kiss on the forehead.
"You can do this baby, she's almost here." Justin says lightly into her ear.
Using that, she took a big breath and pushed as hard as she could. Demi can tell she's out and Justin squeezes her hand. Woozy and out of breath, she looked up at her husband who is looking at their baby girl with the biggest smile on his face. She sees a tear fall down his cheek. He looks down at Demi and grins again.
"You did it baby." He smiles. Things start blurring and Demi slowly fades out. She can hear Justin panic but the doctors tell him that she's just resting and it's normal after giving birth. The last thing she heard was Justin raising his voice. Then she's in her dreams. In them, are Justin and little Olivia. Olivia is about 5 years old from the look of it, and Justin is giving her a piggy back ride. Demi's sitting on a picnic blanket smiling and laughing at them. More dreams like this occur and the more she dreams the older Olivia gets. Soon she's marrying a very handsome boy. But before their vows are told, Demi begins to wake up.
As her vision clears up, she sees Justin sitting next to her in a chair asleep. Something isn't right. She sits up too fast and she gets a little lightheaded. When she's back to normal she shakes Justin. He wakes up then stands up so fast that she wonders what's wrong.
"Justin, wha-where is she?" Demi asks remembering their newborn baby girl. Justin rubs his forehead as if he's forgotten something. After, what seems a minute, Demi asks him again.
"Justin, where's Olivia? Where's my little girl?" Demi started worrying and she knew something is definitely wrong.
"Babe, just lay down for a second." Justin put his hand on her shoulder.
"No, I won't! I want to see her!" She began. Her heart was racing and she looked out the door for someone. "Nurse!" She called out.
"Please, don't call a nurse." Justin's voice starts to shake. He sits down. He puts his elbows on his knees and head in his hands. It's happening, everything Demi had hoped wouldn't happen, is in fact happening.
"No," Demi says, shaking her head. "No, I don't believe it. No. No. No!" She keep shaking her head. Justin looks up and she noticed he was crying. Wiping away his tears, he stands up again and pulls something out of his pocket.
He walks over to her and takes one of her hands. He kisses it gently and she felt a tear fall onto a finger. She began to cry as well, realizing that this is real. This isn't a show or a sad movie. It's happening to her and she can't help but cry. Two minutes pass and Justin's on the bed with Demi, cuddling her and telling her that it's okay, when they both know it's not.
They're both in extreme pain and Demi can't control the emotions rushing through her body. Justin hands her a long strip of paper. After wiping the tears from her eyes, she notices it's a hospital band. It's already been cut. She put the ends, where it was cut, together and this is the real breaking point. Her wrist was so tiny. Trying to keep tears back Demi read the writing;

However, she felt like she knew everything about her. She saw her in her dreams. She watched her life pass by...in only 8 minutes. Demi spend the rest of the day crying and yelling for her to come back. She doesn't even care if it's just for a minute.
Demi wrote a letter to her baby girl, telling her about everything she didn't get to see. Telling her about how much she misses her. How she didn't get to meet her but she felt so close to her.
"...I know I should feel completely clueless as to who you are, but I feel like I know you better than anyone else. If only you were here, now! I'd give anything to be holding you right now, baby. I love you, Olivia. Please come back. 8 minutes is all I want with you...
