~The Boyfriend and The Ex~

Lexi's POV

I know for a fact there is about to be a lot of drama surrounding me and Anthony. Me and Anthony have been dating for 2 months and things have been great. Now, Brendan is coming back into the picture.

Me and Brendan dated for a year but we broke up about a month before I moved out to LA. Brendan cheated on me. I don't hate him for it, he was drunk and the girl took advantage of him. We both decided it would be best to just be friends after that incident. Most people would have been pissed and wouldn't forgive their boyfriend for sleeping with another girl but I was ok with it. I forgave him because I still loved him. I loved Brendan so much. We were friends for a few years before we started developing feelings for each other. We became really great friends and he was always there for me.

I know that Brendan loved me even after everything we went through. He was loyal to me. It was a little awkward when we broke up. We didn't talk that much but I knew that he would still be there for me if I need him. Anthony knows about Brendan so I'm calling him now. Then I'll talk to Brendan.

On the Phone

A: Lexi?
L: Hey Anthony
A: Who is Brendan? Why does he want to talk to you?
L: Brendan is my ex boyfriend and Amelia's older brother. You don't have to worry about him okay? He just wants to talk.
A: Wait, He's your ex? How do you know he doesn't want you back?
L: Anthony, We ended things a month before I came to LA. Things didn't end the best between us so I'm sure he just wants to apologize and try to make things right.
A: Are you going to meet with him or call him?
L: Yes, I'm going to call him after this.
A: Do you think he wants you back?
L: I doubt it. I'm sure he's moved on.
A: Do you think he still loves you?
L: Yeah most likely, Even if he still loves me it might not be in a romantic way. We were friends for a long time before we started dating. You don't need to worry about him.
A: Do you still love him?

I froze when I heard that question. I never really thought about Brendan since we broke up... Okay that was a lie I have thought about him a lot. I mean I guess I still love him. I just don't know if it's as a friend or more than that. I really like Anthony but I, I don't love him. It's only been two months, I can't love him already can I?

A: Lexi?
L: I'm still here
A: Do you still love him?
L: I uh...Anthony?
A: Yes?

I started crying. I couldn't handle this. I could barely admit it to myself but, Of course I still love Brendan, hell...I never fell out of love with him.

L: I'm so sorry, Yes I still love him. I don't want to hurt you but I just can't do this anymore. I'm really-
A: It's okay Lexi! I get it. It's hard to move on when you're still in love with him. I get it. I've been in your situation before. Talk to him, tell him how you feel.
L: Really? You're not mad?
A: Not at all. Now go! Get your man!
L: Thank you Anthony, I'll talk to you later.
A: Bye Lexi

I guess it's time. Anthony's reaction was different from what I thought. I'm just glad he was understanding about it. I clicked on Brendan's contact and hit the call button. Here goes nothing.

B: Hello?
L: Hey Brendan...
B: Oh my god Lexi?
L: Yeah, you said you wanted to talk
B: Um yeah I have a few things to tell you
L: I have to tell you something as well but you go first
B: Okay well the first thing is I'm moving to LA
L: Oh my god Brendan that's great! We'll have to meet up sometime soon!
B: Yeah, the second thing I need to say is...I miss you Lexi and I still love you
L: Brendan, I uh I love you too. I've always loved you and being away from you only made me miss you more.
B: Would you be willing to give me a second chance?
L: Of course! Just so you know I broke up with Anthony
B: Wait you did? How did he take it?
L: Yeah um, I told him I was still in love with you and he was very understanding about it because he's been in my position before
B: So you guys are good?
L: Yeah we are
B: Lets get together sometime this week okay?
L: Yeah I would love that. Also you have to meet everyone so I'll talk to Amelia about that
B: Alright well I have to go talk to you later?
L: Okay bye Brendan

I guess everything worked out well today. I'm glad that Anthony understood. Talking to Brendan was good. He still felt the same way. I was thrilled to hear that he's moving out to LA because that means we'll get to see each other more. I'll have to call Amelia in the morning about everybody meeting up. Maybe it'll have to wait since she's probably going back to Chicago for a while.
