"Why did that girl call you Trinity?" Daryl finally asks the question I've been dreading.

I stayed silent, dragging my feet slowly across the rough sidewalk. The sun was starting to set, staining the sky blood red, orange, and a light shade of pink. Dots of fluffy cumulus clouds hung in the sky, turning a light shade of rose. Honestly, I thought it was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen, so I switched my gaze from Daryl's inquiring blue eyes, to the calm sunset.

"Well?" He repeated, impatient.

I stopped to ponder my answer. I could tell him the truth; my legal name is actually Trinity, or I could lie and say that I have no clue as to why he called me Trinity.

With my decision in mind, I opened my mouth to tell him, "My legal name is Trinity." My mouth snapped closed with an audible click. What the heck? That's not what I was going to tell him. I averted my eyes from his, staring down at the plain ground instead.

"Then why do you have people call you Faith?" He asked.

I blinked in surprise. That wasn't the queston I was expecting. "My name means 'faith'. Plus, we could all use a little faiith in the place the world has become."

He was silent for a few moments. "I think you're right." He said lowly, " But don't go expecting me to actually call you Trinity. You're always Faith to me." He added, lightly bumping his shoulder against mine.

I smiled. "Wouldn't dream of it."

Daryl seemed to have this... gift of conversation. With a simple action or word, he could make a heavy conversation turn into a light-hearted one.

Everyone walked back to the cars in silence, lost in their own thoughts. I could feel the sticky, drying blood on my hands as I clenched them into fists. Guilt flooded me. I had just killed a person. My best friend nonetheless.

In cold blood.

"Rick?" I called quietly.

"Yeah?"

"You know I murdered him -Trevor- right?" I could hear the guilt in my voice, seeping through, even as it cracked on the last syllable.

Rick was silent for a moment, and I was certian he was going to kick me out if the group. Send me on my way woth the supplies I needed. "As far as I'm concerned, you killed him in self defense. That's not counted as murder." Rick answered.

I nodded, my voice lost. He was letting me stay in the group, but I'm almost - no, I'm positive he didn't trust me as he once did.

But extreme problems call for extreme actions... right?

"That's all we found." Rick announced to the group, staring down at the measly pile with distaste.

Silence filled the camp, and I used that moment to escape and climb up the tree to retrieve my backpack. "I can add this." I tossed a half-empty box of Ritz crackers and an almost full bag of Doritos onto the pile.

"Are those... Doritos?" Carl asked, his eyes wide.

I smiled, "Yeah. You want 'em?" I held the red bag out so he could take it.

"Oh no. I couldn't possibly take that. Others need to eat too." His floppy brown hair shook across his head.

"I'm going to tell you a secret; these Doritos are for you. I've already asked everyone, they all said you could have them. If you want them that is." I added in a low voice.

If possible, Carl's eyes grew even wider, "They're all mine? I don't have to share? Not one chip?" He asked.

I shook my head, a small smile playing on my lips, "Nope. All for you."

"Thank you!" He exclaimed, grabbing the bag eagerly before rushing away.

"What if I wanted some Dorios?" Daryl pouted.

I drew out another bag, "I got some left over."

Daryl grinned at me, "Always thinking aren't you?"

I nodded, lifting a shoulder in a lazy shrug. What could I say? I was. Throughout the camp, I could hear the crumple of bags and the the tear of cardboard boxes. I leaned against a tree, my hands empty. I wasn't going to eat anything tonight; these people needed it more than I did.

"Why aren't you eating anything?" Lori's sudden voice startled me.

"I'm not hungry," I answered, "Plus, you guys need it more than I do."

"Nonsense. You need to eat too." She grabbed my sleve and tugged me along.

"Daryl. Share your Doritos with your girlfriend. She's not eating anything." Lori ordered, shoving me next to Daryl.

"I'm not his girlfriend." I muttered sourly at the same time as he said, "Fine."

I blinked, astonished. He hadn't objected to Lori calling me his girlfriend. Daryl offered me the bag, but I declined. "I said I wasn't hungry."

"Am I going to have to force feed you?" Playfulness hinted in his voice as he smirked at me.

"Pfft, no." I waved. "I'm fine. Seriously. I'm just not hungry."

Darly stared at me with a straight face. 'Seriously?' It read.

"I promise! I've already filled up!" I laughed at him.

"Alright. I'll let it slip tonight. But that's it. If you don't eat tomorrow, I'm force feeding you." Daryl smirked.

SHaking my head, I walked away from the group with a soft laugh. If this is how it's gonna be like here, I never want to leave this place. I finally feel like I belong somewhere in this world.
