My arms ached, my back felt as if it was broken, and a simple motion like walking caused me to fall to the ground in pain.

"What's wrong with me, Daddy?" I whimpered as a searing pain shot up my back. Sweat beaded along my brow and upper lip as I squirmed in place.

"The medicine is taking affect. It's time for your next dose. Come with me, child." My 'Daddy' grabbed my arm roughly as my mother cried out in protest.

"You can't keep doing this to her, Don!" She shouted. "She's only a child! Eight years old, and you're performing tests on her! Not to mention she's your own daughter! What kind of monster could do this to his own child!?"

Her screams and pleas seemed to fall on deaf ears as he continued to forcibly pull me behind him. "Where are we going?" I asked in a small, feverish voice.

"You need another dose of your medicine. Then the pain will go away." My father answered, emotionless.

We arrived at the end of a dark tunnel, a gray metal door blocking my view of the place. I had no idea what was in there, nor did I have any idea about what he was going to put me through. I followed him down the steps to the room.

I looked around wearily at the white room. Everywhere I looked there seemed to be clear tubes, some used and in a discard bin, others still resting in their plastic coverings. There was needles littering the ground, tabled tops, even stuck in the walls. Multiple liquids of various colors caught my attention, neon yellows, and vibrant reds, to dark blues and greens. I even saw a few black vials.

"What is this place?" My voice quivered.

"This is my work place. This is what I do. I create medicine that can make people stronger, or make them crumble into weakness." His voice had gained a bitter edge to it towards the edge of his words.

"Why? Why would you want people to fall into weakness? People deserve to live." I asked him. "Wait, am I becoming weak because of this?"

"No. No child of mine will be weak. The medicine I give you makes you strong in both will, mind, and body. I give your mother the weakening medicine." He explained.

"Why would you want mum to be weak?"

He didn't supply me with an answer, but I didn't need one. I don't think I actually wanted to know why he was poisoning us. I was so lost in though, I didn't notice that my father was sneaking up to me, a syringe in his hand and a light blue liquid inside. In one swift movement, he jabbed me in the neck with it.

I cried out in surprise and pain, and almost as soon as the syringe was jutting out of my neck, it disappeared. My hand flew to the spot, blocking the small amount of blood that was seeping out of the small wound. The blood soon clotted though, and I was able to remove my hand.

"There. Now you're going to be okay for the next few days until we need to give you your medicine again." My father announced, brushing his hands against each other.

He began to lead me back into the room where my mother was, and shoved me in before turning around and locking the door without so much as a backward glance.

"Oh my baby." My mother ran up to me, sobbing quietly. "What has he done to you?"

I reached up to her face, caressing the dirty skin. "He's making me stronger. I wish I could say the same for you."

"Trinity. Wake up, Trinity." A far away voice called to me.

"I'm awake. I'm- I'm awake." I slurred, sleepy.

"Uh-huh." The voice said.

I blinked the sleep away from my eyes, my vision clearing greatly. "Daryl? Why did you wake me up? Why was I asleep?"

"You must have fallen asleep after you had finished cutting the meat. I woke you up because you fell asleep with a knife in your hand and you could have hurt your self. Also, you fell asleep by a pile of deer meat." He explained

"Oh. I guess I should fix this up then." I murmured, moving to clean up the meat and store it away safely.

"I'll do it. You go get some sleep. You look like you could use it." He ushered me off of the ground.

"Are you saying I look ugly?" I asked in mock offense.

"What? No! No, I only meant that you looked like you were tired and could use some rest. I think you look pretty. No, beautiful. There's no way you could be ugly." Daryl rattled on.

I chuckled, "Daryl, I know what you meant. I know I need the sleep. I haven't been getting very much for the past few days."

"Oh, okay." He muttered. "I'm just gonna... yeah."

I shook my head, rolling my eyes as I walked away and back to my tree. On my way back, a few people said hi, so I nodded back at them to let them know I had heard them and I wasn't being rude and ignoring them. I saw Lori on my way, so I smiled at her and waved as she yelled out a 'hi!'.

"Trini- Faith, could I speak with you for a moment?" Rick asked, approaching me.

I nodded, my smile fading quickly. "Sure, what do you want to talk about?" I asked, walking with him away from others. I guess this was going to be a private conversation.

"We need to talk about Trevor and your name." He began. I had been waiting for this conversation.

"Okay." I agreed.

"I think it'd be best if we didn't tell the others about Trevor, but as for your name... we might have to tell the others about it. Why you changed it. They might not like the fact you kept this from them." He said.

I hesitated before agreeing, "Okay, I'll tell them now."

"I'm not saying to - wait, what? Did you say yes?" He asked me.

I shrugged. "Yeah, I have to face them and tell them sometime. If they don't like it and I get thrown out of the group, then so be it." With that said, I spun and walked to the center of camp. "If I could have everyone's attention, please?" My voice rang out strong as everyone gathered around me, waiting to hear what I had to say.

Everyone's face was a mask of confusion, Rick excluded. He just looked nervous. "My name isn't Faith." I began, but was cut off. Shane and Ed, mostly Ed, started shouting at me. "Hey!" I shouted, my voice echoing. "Was I finished?" I asked them, glaring.

They shook their heads.

"I didn't think so. My real name is Trinity."
