Rick looked relatively shocked at my small speech. Every one did actually. I sighed and shook my head. "You people need to learn that I am just full of surprises."

I though I could have heard Daryl mutter, "I already knew that."

"That still doesn't explain wh-" Merle was cut off by Carol who threw herself onto me, like her daughter. I stumbled back, my body had been braced for the impact before she collided with me.

"You saved my baby girl, thank you so much!" She cried.

I patted her back again, "Your welcome."

I struggled from her grip and stood to the side, everyone's gaze followed me. "I don't like hugs that much."

"That's impossible. Everyone likes a hug once in a while." Lauri exclaimed.

"You just need the right person to hug you." Daryl added.

"I don't think you understand, Lori. I was once hugged by a friend, but then they started to choke me. They had turned sides, and had decided to try and take me out in the sweetest way possible; through a hug. They underestimated me though, and I was able to get away without too much damage being done to me." I explained.

"Oh, you poor thing!" Andrea exclaimed. "You've been through way too much to keep going with how you've been surviving. Join our group officially. We'll protect you. All of us."

I sent doubtful glances towards Ed, and Merle, Shane might hurt me, but I don't know why he tried to earlier. He probably saw me as a threat.

"Don't worry. I'll keep him in check." Daryl's voice whispered in my ear, his lips pressing softly against my ear, and his hands resting lightly on my hips. I fought leaning into his tempting warmth and protection, eventually losing as my body took control of it's self and leaned into Daryl. "Join our group. Join me." He coaxed.

"Rick first said he had to ask me three questions before I could join. And that's only if I answered the questions within his limits." I almost moaned, but my voice came out in a breathy whisper instead.

Daryl's hand left my side as he beckoned Rick over. "She's ready to answer those questions now."

Rick nodded and began questioning me as Daryl's hand went back to its rightful place on my hip. Wait. Wait a minuet. Since when did Daryl's hand ever have a rightful place on my body? Oh well. He felt too good to worry about at the moment.

"How many walkers have you killed?"

"Too many to count."

"How many people have you killed?"

"Two."

"Why?"

"To put them out of their misery, and because they drew on me."

I answered his questions immediately. I could practically see the gears turning in his brain as he processed my answers.

"If you would like to join us, you are welcome to." He finally said.

"What!? No way."

"The sniveling brat will get us killed within the next week." Ed and Merle's voices ran over each other as their protests were shouted.

I scowled at them. "Shut it you two. I can take Merle, as already proved, and I can take you too Ed."

He snorted, "Really?"

"Yeah. When you were beating me, I didn't fight back. I protected. That was my intention. Otherwise, your anger would have mounted."

He shut up after that, but I could tell he was still upset with the decision to allow me into their group.

"She'll be a great addition to our group." Shane nodded in agreement.

"Hey, wait a second. Didn't you just try to kill me?" I frowned.

"Maybe." He shrugged. "You seemed like a threat at the moment."

"Aha! I knew it." I exclaimed, pointing up.

"Okay then...?" Shane murmured.

"So? Will you join the group?" Daryl asked me.

"I don't know. Maybe. This group definitely has something the other groups didn't. That's for sure." I said.

Having Faith in Daryl's arms felt right. It made him feel as if everything would be okay. He desperately hoped that she'd join the group. He felt as if his heart would be ripped out if she left.

She was perfect. And feeling her lean into his touch and closer to his body,  Daryl knew that this was where he belonged. Helping this unbelievable woman survive this world, even though she had survived by herself for a year and a half, and she could probably beat him up if she wanted.

If she wanted to truly beat him up, he didn't think he would fight back. Daryl honestly thought he would just let her beat him.

And the thought scared him to his very core, but he couldn't bring himself to care. He had deliberately avoided this woman, and he felt as if he would go crazy if he didn't see her that day.

Daryl thought that he could be in love. His heart sure beat for the woman in his arms.
