So, I guess I should say a few things about myself that'll help you understand my position here.

You see, I'm not popular. It bothers me. I hate being underestimated. I hate that everyone feels like they can push me around. I might not look like a nerd but I can list the first two hundred digits of pi. I enjoy math. I love science. Reading is what I live for. Yes, I'm a nerd. I'm so much more than the label that is being put on me. I am ashamed of that label and I will not be ashamed of admitting so. It sucks because if you're a nerd no one looks at you twice. No one is capable of loving a nerd.

I caught her.

"Sorry." She mumbled as she steadied herself. She was so clumsy. I didn't understand why it made her so, well, her.

She grabbed her penny board and her notebook. She waved at me and my father. Then she bolted.

"Ahhh. I didn't know you were after the clumsy type." My dad said behind my shoulder.

"Don't lie to me Matt. I can see it in the way you look at her. At least get to know her first." He said.

"Mr. Tennant, thank you for pairing me up with her, but I'll have you know I am not her type. Oh and I'm not after her." I said turning to meet my father's eyes. He was smiling.

"Mhmm. Sure you aren't." He said. I rolled my eyes. I walked out of the classroom and pulled out my schedule. I started walking towards the music rooms because it was my free period and I could go anywhere I wanted.

I knew that the practice rooms were always unlocked and they were the best hiding places for things.

I heard music coming from the abandoned music room.-I shouldn't say abandoned because that makes it sound like Ella Chi doesn't have a music program-The old music room that no one used. It still had a bunch of instruments in it. The sounds that came from the room were cello noises. A cello being tuned. I honestly wouldn't know if a cello was tuned or not.

Then the person started playing. I cannot explain to you how beautiful it sounded. The person was playing the Star Wars theme. What a great choice. Then they stopped.

I heard footsteps and dove into one of the practice rooms. I looked through the crack in the door and I nearly fainted.

It was her. It was Avi.

She was looking around. Maybe she heard me? I don't know, but it looked like she gave up and went back into the room. All of a sudden, I heard the piano. She was playing Skinny Love by Bon Iver.

"I told you to be patient and I told you to be fine. I told you to be balanced and I told you to be kind. In the morning I'll be with you, but it'll be a different kind. Cause you'll be holding all the tickets and I'll be holding all the fines.

Come on skinny love what's happened here? Suckle all hope in light brassieres. My my my my my my my my."

She had a voice. The voice of an angel; but that didn't do her voice justice. There is no way I could describe her voice. It was just perfect. I sat there through the songs she played and sang. A brilliant idea popped into my head.
