Avi's P.O.V

You know, my family was the best of storytellers. They had stories for everything. My favourite stories were the space stories. Stories of different aliens found in multiple different galaxies. Those were and will always be my favourite. I always had a tiny hope they were real.

Apparently some of them were.

They were my worst nightmare too.

Here in front if me, in this empty room, stood 7 statues.

Oh and not just any statues.

These were Weeping Angels.

Matt's P.O.V

The door opened and in the empty room there were seven statues. They were angel statues. They were all covering their faces almost like they were crying.

"Dear God." Avi whispered. She looked pale. Her face showed sheer terror. She didn't look away for one second.

"What's wrong Avi?"

"Matt look at them. Don't even blink." She said sternly. Then I blinked.

"Matt, what the hell? I told you not to blink!" She shouted. I noticed that all the angels were closer and had their arms extended toward us.

"Don't look at the eyes. Look anywhere but the eyes." She said. She had the screwdriver pointed at them.

"What are they? How can they move?" I asked looking at them.

"I'll explain once were out if this room. Now, back away slowly and don't take your eyes off of them for one second." She said as she put one foot behind the other. I prayed to God she didn't fall on her ass.

Our retreat was successful. Avi shut that door and ran her sonic beam around it.

"That should seal the door. Do me a favour and pull the handle." She said twirling the screwdriver between her fingers. I pulled on the door handle and as if by magic, it was sealed shut. She smiled and kissed her Fob watch. I straightened my bow tie and we strolled out of there like nothing happened.

We went out to were the blue box was and found a giant patch of wild flowers. She started to pick them. I just watched her as she picked different colours from the flowers.

Once she had an armful, she handed them to me.

"Hold them, please."

She climbed the nearby tree and sat in the thickest, lowest branch. The branch was just short of 6 feet off the ground.

"Could you pass me 2 flowers please?" Avi said. Her foot dangling off one side of the branch. She looked so carefree. She looked like someone who hadn't seen living statues. I handed her two flowers.

"Please explain to me what happened back there." I demanded. She told me to keep handing her flowers. I leaned against the tree handing her flowers.

"Okay Matt. You must remember to keep an open mind, darling. Those statues weren't statues. They were beings from a different planet. Aliens, you might call them. They are called Weeping Angels. They are faster than light and sound. They can only move if you are not looking at them. If you blink or stop looking and they touch you, they zap you back to a random time period where you live out the rest of your life. If you look into their eyes for too long, you turn into one if them. They turn into stone as a defence mechanism because you can't kill stone. The sad thing is that they're defence mechanism is also they're strongest weakness. If 2 angels are forced to look at each other, they will never move again." She finished. My brain felt fuzzy, overwhelmed even. I had always thought life on another planet was impossible. I always
