Super happy I got another reader so I'm just gonna post a short chapter now. XD
Back at YogCon, every member of the Yogscast gathered around to share what they had found. Well, it was basically just Lewis.
"I've done the paperwork to apply to be Yumi's guardian-"
"WAIT-WHA?!?" Voices echoed.
"Hannah was the one who first suggested it when I mentioned the situation to her but now, it's really the best choice."
Everyone around nodded awkwardly.
"I've done the paperwork but it might take sometime to get approved and our flight back is tomorrow evening..."
"Would Yumi really be okay with this?" Leo suddenly asked and all eyes turned to him. "I mean.. It's like you're adopting her from pity or something..."
Everyone was silent. Turps looked around. He had fun the last few days. He really enjoyed it. Duncan glanced at Lewis. He still wanted to talk to Yumi, take more selfies with her and laugh about how ridiculous he looked sometimes. Lewis smiled as he looked back up.
"I think anyone who's going to feel like they can pity that girl is pretty much out of their mind."
The tensions finally disappeared as everyone started laughing.
Late that evening, Kim and Hannah had to leave as the orphanage didn't allow visitors to stay overnight. Yumi tried to smile as they left but she couldn't help the nagging thought at the back of her mind, constantly reminding her that they were going back to Bristol the next day.
Yumi lay on her bed, slowly rocking herself as her mind just thought. What will happen to her after they left...? She'll just be another Yognaught, another follower of Rythianity, another Yogpod listener, another one of their million fans. For a moment she felt really sad that she didn't try harder to leave a stronger impression on them, that she wasn't more cheerful so that they might remember her. She was sad that she wasn't unique enough to become someone special to them. Closing her eyes, these thought continued to float around her mind...
Lewis and Simon shared a room that night. Simon was just playing Diablo on his computer while munching on Jaffa cakes. Meanwhile, Lewis was rushing through what felt like hundreds of paperwork. It didn't help that they were going back to Bristol soon so he needed to do extra paperwork for that as well. He only groaned as he realized he would never get it done in time as he still had to make some calls and go for an interview due to his lack of a proper job. Simon looked behind him moments later, just stopping himself from falling out of his chair at the sight of Lewis, half asleep on a stack of paper and his hair poking out in every direction.
